How to clean scraped email List?

Hey I have a few older email lists and would like to clean them up before mailing..

What are some methods to do this? Do you have to send the emails out against some software?

Please enlighten me or send me in the right direction.

Copy your list to another smtp server and send the list an email telling them to watch the new Obama commercial or something.

First download some spamtrap lists from the net. Use safe sender list manager to remove duplicates and spam traps. Send a plain email to the list, something like "hey, are you ready for the game next week" and then filter out the bounces. Then you are ready to mail your real campaign to the list. Don't worry too much about spam traps, just look up your ip addresses and domains on real time black lists every day. You will probably be blocked at aol and yahoo so avoid those emails starting off. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips, already a huge help, I feel like aol and yahoo are pretty big email supplies that would hurt to cut off but your probably right if you don't want to keep getting flagged.. Any sites your would reefer for getting spamtrap lists?

thanks for all the info on emailing a list. I am getting biz op leads for next to nothing and want to email them to watch a video of a Prime Time investigative report on a product that I am promoting....very legit stuff. If they opt-in then I contact them. I need to ramp this up big time to 50,000 emails per day. Any help or advise on how best to do this would be appreciated. I looked at email verifiers but most of them dont keep the fields intact as you go thru the verification process. I want to match up the fields so I can use their first names in the subject of the email. Thanks for any help and suggestions

I have a ubot I built that checks thousands of emails for certain words. I have a huge list of words I check against. You can check your lists manually and you'll see the problems. I've found some really funny ones too, but I can't post them here. Some of the words I block:

noreply
support
google
etc etc you get the idea.

It's not foolproof but it's a start.
