So a landing page huh

Let's begin with who I am and who I'm not. I'm not an IM. I'm a programmer with give or take 10 years of experience and despite all my knowledge, software and hardware(I happen to have 10 servers) I've never been able to make much on the side. Close to nothing in fact. So I come here with a straight forward question-you make a so called "landing page". Fair enough-the thing that is missing here is how do you drive traffic to that page. Some will say fiverr but let's be realistic here-how much of that traffic is real traffic? None-those are all bots. It takes exactly 4 minutes to make such a bot-I've made such myself. You want 50000 pageviews a day from unique IP's-yes. I can do that. With this in mind fiverr is a waste of money. I've setup a cron that looks through dropping domains and emails me the interesting once and even sends me an sms if they are really interesting.

But still-back to my original question-how do you get people-real living and berthing people with a computer on your "landing page"?!?!?!?!?!??!

Quality content, on and off-page optimization, quality backlink building, but most important, keyword research. Keyword research is going to tell you how much traffic is available and how hard it will be to get it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that does seem like a bit of a leap of faith. I mean since seo has never been an actual science and with penguin it's even less of a science? Isn't playing giving you a better chance of actually earning something? Meaning that you have to buy a domain for the next two years and maybe you will get something off it(much rather nothing)???

what i've learned is, TRY and TEST. that is the only way to know. there is no absolute solution. all the guides you see on here are to point you to the direction, the rest is on you to try and become creative. you will fail, and you will succeed, with what you succeed on you will grow and sprout different ideas.

don't think too hard about it, otherwise you will be thinking too much instead of working too much

The whole "landing page" CPA stuff was massive back in 2009-2010.
It doesn't work these days. AM have moved away from that style of marketing from what I've gathered.

I've been seeing success with advertising on networks such as Neobux and stuff like that, but you have to take think about what kind of visitors you want. For example, advertising on neobux and stuff like that will only bring you people who are either looking for making money or looking for free stuff. It's quite a good way to get a big email list, but I doubt affiliate links will work well there.

Isn't this against ClickBank TOS? Because sites like Neobux open the links in an iFrame, which I think Clickbank frowns upon.

I think it depends on the content. I had 90k visitors in a day to a flickr image I took after posting it on reddit. Sadly I didn't get a single penny for it, I should have put it on a page on my own site. Got 857 link karma from it whatever that means.

The picture wasn't even good it was a protest sign with a funny slogan.

You get fake traffic, likes etc to raise popularity of your page that raises interest from real users. Additionally, you would use your landing page as a target for bought traffic, like PPC. If you, for example, used a common site, people coming to it, could possibly get lost on it. Landing page, on the other hand, communicates the basic features of your product to a visitor and forces him to take action.
