What about the people paying thousands of dollars for advertisement on BlackHatworld?

I would expect you guys to at least have 95% or more up time, yes I understand that DDOS attacks happen, but how come Wickedfire, DigitalPoint and WaFo are down much less?

And the first two don't even get money from Banner Ads and Premium Memberships(Not sure about DP and Premium Memberships) ?

A business is a business, and when there is money involved business owners should keep their shit together... When somebody complains about my service, as most service providers here I do everything to my potential to fix the issue for them, and not just ignore it. The downtime has been a recurring problem for over an year, and happens even more often after you moved to hostwinds!

Well, Warrior Forum and DP are not as good as BHW so they can't afford to have down times. BHW is the best there is, so they know they can go down for a bit because there is nothing else on the web comparable to this site. Warrior forum and DP are huge steps down in my opinion. (last night when BHW was down, I started browsing warrior forum but got bored after 5 minutes so I went to bed a lot earlier than usual lol)

Our uptime over the last year has been around the 99% mark. Before that it was around 90%. I agree it's not ideal but it's something we are working on to hit that magic five 9's. Sometimes we need to bring our service down to fix and upgrade and most people understand and support that.

Our "shit" is together my friend and it will stay that way.

We have moved from hostwinds by mutual agreement. We will continue to recommend hostwinds for hosting in the USA.

Let's hope their aren't anymore downtime. But it's very hard for a big forum like BHW to maintain a uptime of 99% but yes, a good and strong server is really needed in order to keep the uptime time. Let's hope the new move will make BHW much more stable.

Good question!

I'm also living in the UK and was considering using a local uk host, so it would be great if you could share some key benefits (of course without undermining hostwinds that I'm also using for one of my sites).
