Journey from $0 to $10 a day

OVERVIEW:
I've been researching IM for quite a while now but have always failed to take action. I intend to remedy that starting now. I'm starting this journal to keep myself accountable and to hopefully meet a few people that have similar goals. I would love to discuss potential methods and of course would very much appreciate any advice you have!

METHOD(s):
I have been accepted into a few CPA networks and am planning on content locking, using YouTube to drive traffic to a website or blog. I am expecting a lot of trial and error to take place and for my method to evolve.

GOAL:
To have an average of $10 earned per day by the end of August.

DAY 01/30:
I spent a lot of time today registering with different sites, installing software and all that fun stuff. I did get one video up however and added 3000 vagex credits to it, with a link to a content locked download in the description.

GOALS:
Learn how to use Adobe After Effects better. Create 10 or so PVA YouTube accounts. Add 5 more videos. Create a unique domain and content lock some stuff.

DAY 2/30:
I put up a website with some email submit CPA offers. I ordered a gig on Fiverr for an adwords voucher so hopefully that will generate some traffic. I added more views and likes to my YouTube video. Tomorrow I will look into finding some other videos to put some top comments on. Does anybody have any more idea for driving traffic? If anybody is looking for free hosting for a website free*hostia.com has been working amazing so far. I didn't shop around TOO much for a good deal on a domain, I have a few other domains on godaddy which I'm comfortable with so I rolled with that. Besides, if this works out a few dollars difference for a domain will be a drop in the bucket.

GOALS:
Get more YouTube videos up and add views. Get another website up in a different niche.

thanks man, good luck to you as well! how long have you been at it for? in a few of the journals i read op would have success within the first few days which i was kind of hoping for haha, but it looks like that won't be my case. persistence, persistence, persistence.

DAY 3/30:

Unfortunately I again did not get much done today, at least as far as least internet marketing goes. I applied to a local hourly job at a call center around here so I'm hoping that goes through and I can work that job until IM takes over. I was in a really musical mood today and I finished writing almost an entire song so I feel like it wasn't a waste of day. Music is my true passion so I don't mind letting other things slide if I'm working on that.

The fiverr gig I hired sent me a message saying big G would most likely not approve my campaign since my url was what they considered a "bridge page", I figured getting adwords traffic that easy was too good to be true so I'm going to scrap that idea for now. I've heard about sites that let you pay a few dollars to have a tweet sent out to a bunch of people, does anyone have any advice or experience as far as that goes?

The one video I have up now is still getting views from vagex, but only 2 unique clicks on the CPA so far :S it was kind of an off the cuff niche so I'm not too sad about it. Does anybody have any method for finding good niches like comparing certain keywords against each other or anything like that? I have that YouTube site that lets you see how many times keywords are searched for each month, I suppose it would be worth the effort to figure out how to better utilize that.

GOALS:
MORE. YOUTUBE. VIDEOS. I need to get at least 20-30 more out there and see what works and what doesn't.

DAY 4/30:
I didn't get much work done today again I'm starting to notice a trend here. I definitely need to buckle down, my goal is to put in 4 hours of solid IM work a day at least. I feel that's pretty reasonable. Good news however, I got my first three leads! Only $1.30, but hey, that means all I have to do is scale up 10x and I'm at my goal.

I did get a Craigslist account and add up and running and I'm doing a few things with that, however CL discussion is not allowed in this forum so I won't be able to discuss that much :/

GOALS:
Continue to pursue Craigslist.
MORE. YOUTUBE. VIDEOS. I had/have a website around that I worked on a while back that would make a good landing page. I might have lost the files though, not sure. I need to either hunt them down or recreate the site.

DAY 5/30:
Put up another video so I have 2 up now. I remembered about this other site I had started a while a back that I plan to sell Clickbank/Amazon products off so I'm starting that up again. Bought a fiverr gig with 2 VCC and AdWords vouchers so I'm going to promote it with that and hopefully I'll catch onto something there. Other than that still adding views/likes/favs to my 2 videos.

GOALS:
Once my Amazon aff account is accepted post a few products on my niche site. Also get the Adwords campaign running. I'm going to set a goal of getting 2 new videos up a day, I feel that is pretty reasonable and I can expand from there... I should probably be doing something closer to 10. Also it looks like i'll have to start my other website from scratch, which isn't too big of a deal.

What's with all these random different things? You should pick one and focus on it. You're delving into all the areas that people actually specialize in and devote months or years to perfecting. What are you doing? Adwords? Craigslist? Twitter traffic? You have it right when you chose the YouTube plus CPA because it's a great place to start and get your bearings in IM. Focus on the website being set up well to work as your landing page. Then focus on your YouTube traffic. This means once your website is up, the only things website related you'll need to do are continue writing new content (and exact copies of your MNS if your doing that form). You'll then be focused on your niche research and your YouTube success. This means learning about the different botted aspects of YouTube, the proper technique to keep from being banned and how to write good descriptions etc.

You're spreading yourself out too much and its leading you towards no success and a very brief knowledge of everything that's not enough to do anything with. Your very inspired and that's good! It should get you places. Not saying don't research these extra things. I'm saying if your goal is $10/day and you think you need to put in 4 hours/day to reach your goal, any time spent on researching and activities that don't deal with your method (YouTube plus your minimal website/landing page efforts) shouldn't count in this 4 hours. That should be something you do when you're not working.

wow man, thanks for the kind words, that really hit home. i think your assessment of my situation is perfect. it's a big problem i deal with a lot in my everyday life, i constantly quit things before i've really gave it my 100%. i think it's some mix of low confidence and constantly wanting enjoyment out of things instead of realizing i sometimes i have to buckle down and put some hard work in even if it's not super fun or exciting at the moment.

i'm really going to take your advice and put it into action, thank you again for taking the time to offer your insight!
