Answering Machine/Voicemail Marketing Software?

Anyone here ever use a program to automatically call residential areas with an answering machine or voicemail program?

I recorded a 20 second pitch that I would like to have placed on local resident answering machines, but I have no idea where to start. I also don't know what happens if the phone is picked up? Does the program turn off or continue with the recording?

Voice broadcasting to residences in the U.S. has generally been against the law since 2009. There are some exceptions. Check out FTC and FCC laws about the subject before you decide to embark on this.

"The FCC recently changed the regulations concerning voice broadcasting. You can no longer call consumers using voice broadcasting without their written permission. However, calling business is not covered by this regulation nor any regulations about the do not call list. This means you are free to call businesses because the government feels if you are a business and you advertise your number and invite people to call you, you cannot then claim you don't want to be called."

My idea was directed towards residents, not business owners so it looks like it may not work

You can use a web service like Call-Em-All, RoboCall, or VoiceShot.

You're on the right track. Voice broadcasting works.

Put a twist on your offer to make it targeted to business owners. Or better yet....keep this in mind....everyone that picks up the phone is a consumer! It doesn't matter if they're at work or at home, they are still a consumer. It would be better to create an offer directed at business owners, but nonetheless......just food for thought.

Wouldn't be worth the money IMO. Most people just hang up when they know someone is trying to sell them something.

You're exactly right, they do....but voice broadcasting targets that small % of people that will listen and respond. If you're trying to sell $29 widgets, voice broadcasting won't work. It depends on the margin you have in your product/service. Of course, that assumes you have a highly targeted list, a compelling offer, and a strong call to action.

Hello, I got a great soft who sends a pre recorded message to anyone. I am planning to target US business owners, my plan is to run this clip for 24 hours a day for a great offer.

Idea behind this is Offices get closed at 5 but the phone are on and none is there to receive calls, they will go to voice mail and my soft will leave a pre recorded message.

Am I going right? Any Suggestions?

I don't think you're breaking any laws, but you're certainly not going about marketing your business very effectively.

How are you sure that you're going to get through to the person who makes the purchasing decisions with your automated software? It's unlikely that unless you have a very compelling pitch that a secretary or whomever checks the company "dial zero" voicemail is going to waste her boss' time with it.

Spend the 30 seconds to call the correct person and leave a good voicemail. Also remember that if you're calling at like 2 am, it will sound incredibly suspicious to anyone who checks or sees when the voicemail was left. Sack up and phone during the day, or outsource the calling to someone who has the nuggets to sell your products.
