Can anyone explain what a CPA network is in laymen terms for me?

Or just direct me to a thread to do so, I tried the search but was met with only "whats the best cpa network" type threads.
I'm guessing its a website that has a database of affiliate offers from company's?

I also found someone talking about affiliate managers, can you sign up for one when you sign up for a network?

Also, does me not being in the US make any difference to the CPA network I join? Do they have to be country specific?

Basically I could have typed this stuff into google, but I'm really looking for an answer to whats a nice starting network to sign up for, and do you have to pay for them?

Be nice to them: they are the ones paying you.

So before launching a campaign you think might be tricky just ask them if its allowed. If not don't do it but depending on your relationship with your AM you may find that not all rules are written in stone.

You will be assigned an AM who will look after all your activity, leads, payouts etc. Piss them off and you will not get paid. It's essential that you maintain an amicable relationship with your AM. ANy queries or complaints you have will be directed to them first.

Yes, I'll have to partially agree with this. Might have been a bit harsh there. In generaly, AMs are nice and if your leads are not questionable, then you will get paid. The relationship aspect comes into play ocassionaly. You don't even need to know your AM for that matter.

That being said, there have been instances when I've personally not been paid, cuz the AM was being a hardass. This won't be a problem with most reputable networks though.
