Heads Up On New Script - Geo Targeted Keywords

I am not sure if you guys are using geo-targeted keywords or not... if your not you should be!

Not sure what i mean?

OK a quick overview... most people on here realize the importance of marketing a niche, basically with geo-targeting you can compact niches even further... say your a realtor or you have an SEO client who is a realtor...

Whats their niche? Obviously real estate but a better niche could be perhaps foreclosed real estate.

Great so you optimize their site or their adsense campaign for foreclosed real estate - well its no good them getting visitors or clicks from people in New York if they are based in California...

So you Geo-Target their keywords...

To make it easy say i am based in Beverly Hills and lets say my client is too.

So i start to target Foreclosed Real Estate Beverly Hills... but then im thinking what about all the local cities around Beverly Hills i should target those as well... so how do i find all those cities??

Well you could use google maps and pain stakingly start writing all the cities down but how far do you go outside of the city???

You've seen how these zip code/store locators work right?

You enter in a zip and miles from the zip and it pulls up all the local stores...

Well i've done the same but this time you enter in the zip, city, prefix keyword and/or suffix keyword and it generates the list for you:

Example:

Geo Targeted Keyword List For All Cities 5 Miles From 90210 and the keyterm "Foreclosed Real Estate"

Foreclosed Real Estate Beverly Hills
Foreclosed Real Estate Los Angeles
Foreclosed Real Estate North Hollywood
Foreclosed Real Estate Sherman Oaks
Foreclosed Real Estate Studio City
Foreclosed Real Estate Universal City
Foreclosed Real Estate West Hollywood

Total Number Of Geo-Targeted Results: 7.

If your familiar with White Hat SEO you should know how useful this list is and what you you can do with it...

I have been using this method for the past two years and been making good $$$ from it but i have been doing it manually... i have lots of stats/demographics relating to geo-targeting that has helped me target and make optimal $$$ in my SEO campaigns.

Now my question is for those people who realize how useful this script could be what other features would be handy?

I am going to add in the following options:

1) Largest cities in US only
2) Largest cities per state only
3) Select Adsense keyword match options ie Broad, Phrase, Exact & Negative

Additionally at a later stage i am going to make it so as you can import your results into a joomla site creating pages with the keyword titles ready for you to add in content.

As well as export feature to enable you to import the results into your adsense campaigns...

You may think im crazy going on about how important geo-targeted keywords are but look at yahoo and google... they would not be adding the local directories if they did not see the importance of it... hopefully now you might start using this type of method to make $$$

If you can think of any other features that maybe useful for this script then please let me know... currently it only supports US zip codes

highly geotargetting leads is gold, especially if there is no one competing with you for a certain city. why just joomla? why not wordpress and blogger as well? if you were to sell this script i would hope that it wouldnt be too cheap and/or you wouldnt sell too many so it wont get saturated. I would love to use it for my country.

the reason ive choosen joomla is firstly i know it inside out... and secondly i get awesome SEO results with it... after some initial tweaking of it...

i could do it for wordpress and blogger but i would need to figure out the DB structure or what would be needed to import the results

I am not intending selling the script it will be running off my own server... am hoping the increased traffic to my site will help my own SEO business

if i can get zip/post codes for other countries i will add those too, going to finish out the first script first...

I have seen other similar scripts but they are limited in what they do and thought the best way to get the best of all of them is to create my own

you probably know this already - but stay clear of geolocation stuff that works dynamically live (depending on where the visitor is coming from) - as Google will only pick up California etc where there bots/datacenters are

it cant be that difficult to create a dump file for wordpress...

was thinking of leaving a space to add in your own content and basically you have a $keyword and $location variable and wherever you place those it inserts your geo targeted content... if that makes sense... ie in regards to the dump files...

i guess in theory i could add in a few variable keywords and make it kinda spin the article too... mmmmm

yeah dynamically ip geo-targeted content sucks!

i guess the simplest way to explain the script is as follows:

it will generate your keyword list targeted to cities within 'x' amount of miles of a zip code you enter...

Example it would produce something like this if you entered the zip 90210, a radius of 5 miles and a prefix keyterm foreclosed real estate:

Geo Targeted Keyword List For All Cities 5 Miles From 90210 and the keyterm "Foreclosed Real Estate"

Foreclosed Real Estate Beverly Hills
Foreclosed Real Estate Los Angeles
Foreclosed Real Estate North Hollywood
Foreclosed Real Estate Sherman Oaks
Foreclosed Real Estate Studio City
Foreclosed Real Estate Universal City

but it will also give you options to add in google adword variables and later it will allow you to kinda spin your content and import it into joomla and hopefully wordpress...

am also thinking adding options to capitalize first letters, or have them lower case, and substitute spaces for hyphens or underscores might be a good option too...

Hey oscar totally appreciate the offer - right now im tweaking it to work with my us zip code database then will move on to other country zip/post code db's

will get the initial parts done first then will hit you up if i need the extra data! obviously ill make it worth your while!

just thought of another inclusion would be to generate a whois checker for it too... but thats the bottom of my to do list for now

i am thinking this guy in the video is talking about geo-targeting the users IP address... because users ip addresses are not necessarily located in the same geographical location its therefore not 100% accurate...
