New Post-Penguin Case Studies

Case Study #1

Customer wanted a push an inner page of a website for three keywords. In my opinion, it is a good idea to try and push inner pages as much as you would a home page. All three keywords were highly related which is another good idea for you to use.

I put a webpage URLs to MarketSamurai and got the following backlink profile.

Next, I quickly did a shit-test on all three keywords. Shit test is quick and dirty keyword complexity analysis. I did two searches. One with a keyword in quotes to determine the total number of competing pages and another is inurl:"keyword" intitle:"keyword" (as a single search phrase). The second search gives a rough estimate of the number of competing pages that are well optimised for the keyword.

After the shit-test I run a SEO competition module to compare links profiles of page one sites with the customer website.

Here is what I come up with.

Keyword 1: two words

"keyword" = 1,370,000
inurl:"keyword" intitle:"keyword" = 34,200

Keyword 2: two words

"keyword" = 374,000
inurl:"keyword" intitle:"keyword" = 42,200

Keyword 3: three words

"keyword" = 366,000
inurl:"keyword" intitle:"keyword" = 712

The rankings on the 4th of June were as following.

All these numbers were telling me that we were going to get good results. Shit-test numbers were just right and current position told me that website wasn't under any penalty and also wasn't a brand new low authority domain (which is possible to rank but it would unlikely to jump to the page one after a single blast).

However, to make this super safe we've mixed in naked links and branded anchors (using customer's products brand name). Originally SEO Blasts were designed to generate a huge push for a single keyword but post-Penguin we wanted to protect people from themselves and add fail-safe measures (even though customer didn't request naked links).

We've started building links on 7th of June and finished the project on the 15th of June. The final ranking report was due on 29th of June, two weeks after the blast. I personally noticed that in 2012 in takes Google more and more time to digest our links but people on BHW are impatient so two weeks wait was a good compromise.

So, on the 29th of July I measured the ranking again. The result were the following.

I think maim keyword ranking is not final yet. I judge Google "dance" by looking at ranking of Web 2.0 sites and video. Usually video and Web 2.0 first outrank the page we promote but later on, then Google "dance" is over, the page pops us. For the first keyword the video is ranking well so I think the site's ranking may improve in the coming week or two.

The results images for your last post aren't working, just FYI.

I just ordered a blast for a low competition niche site, no prior linkbuilding. Since there haven't been many reviews here lately, I'll gladly provide one as results come in :)

Yes of course I do. I haven't seen your email, can you PM me your email address? Might have been caught by the spam filter.

Hey Cash. I can't PM yet as I don't have enough posts on this forum. Can't seem to figure out how to update my profile with my s-k-y-p-e information either. I'm not supposed to put in contact information here either. Can you tell me what the best way of getting a hold of you might be?

Cash202 ... does this work on new sites? and can i discuss in more detail on skype with you?

1. The best way to contact me is [email protected]
2. The best way to get support for your order is [email protected]
3. It does work for any site. New site will experience a lot more "dance" and you'd better add some authority building to the keyword pushes.

Hey Cash. Just placed an order. Let me know what we need to do to get moving or if you have any questions. Thanks!

Hi man,

I've just placed 5 orders which two were duplicate. I tried reaching out to [email protected], but I keep getting the following:

I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<[email protected]>:
Sorry, I couldn't find any host named http://seolblasts.com/. (#5.1.2)

I also tried
http://www.seoblasts.com/support but the Captcha text is showing a broken image; therefore, can't submit the form.

The duplicate order #'s are 338 and 339. Please check and fix accordingly.

Best wishes,

Robert

Hi Robert,

Did you click on a link or just typed the email? There's an extra L in the domain name: seolblasts.com

Email me directly to [email protected]. I've sent you an email reply already.

I removed the captcha from the support tickets. It's really got screwed up for some reason. Thanks for pointing it out.

Ordered again.

1st time i used this service my site jumped from nowhere to #1 for main keyword and #3 for secondary keyword, with the penguin update. Didn't do any other link building except some bookmarks to inner pages.
