GSA Search Engine Ranker - Extremely Powerful Linkbuilding Software (Free 5 Day Trial)

i usually use hotmail accounts and they log in and test fine.. maybe check ur pop settings?

I am also trying to test my deathbycaptcha account and am getting error: unable to get balance.

I can't be the only one who ran into this right?

Update 3.78 is available now :)

Can you further explain what this means and where it can be found: ability to disable log by popup menu (might speed up things if you don't need it).

Thanks

Sorry, my copy logs into DBC fine, and also all my email accounts. Problems with your internet connection?

sounds like u got network problem, might want to restart ur computer or check u can open a website in IE? (just to confirm i got no problem with SER and it is still running fine, logging into email fine and using DBC fine :) )

that means u can turn off logging in SER so the log window at the bottom wont show any messages, to use it right mouse click on the log window area and uncheck 'Enabled Log'. i think the speed up would come from not need to process and display messages, so not sure how much improvement would be offered

I think this point is interesting. I don't know how much ressources does displaying the log messages take. If it's only about CPU, then I would let it on - got enough ressources atm anyway. If it helps to get rid of some other delays who hold back the whole process, then of course I would turn it off.

Another thing I've noticed while processing large target lists: I've got some delays (SER seems to be stopping - perhaps doing work in the background) after processing a number of URL's and continue only after a while. I always asked myself if this is needed, because when I take a look at the ressources (network, cpu, ram) I can't see that there aren't enough (which would be typical for such breakes). I don't want say anything wrong, but I'm very unsure if multithreading is always working as it should - think sometimes it just waits to finish some threads and don't use the full potential (give every thread - especially while processing target lists - always a job).

Turning it off is a nice idea, but if you limit your submissions on each project, its the only place you can see the progress.
What would be nice is if it was to display the info on the main screen, countdown on each project ie "55/100 submitted"

What's the backend you use for the software? .Net VB? Just purchased.

I agree. It would be nice at all to have a footer row with running stats. For example verfied links/hour, when a target list is running how many there are in the queue and so on. This would show in a quick way if everything is in a normal range.

It's Delphi (socks based). You had the chance to find this information in the first post of this thread ;)

I have 2 installations of GSA, on PC and on VPS. In Test data for About Us field what I have noticed is:

%spinfile-names.dat% %spinfile-lnames.dat% - is spun and displayed as it should be, however,

%columnspinfile-address_data.dat-1% through -5% - and %random-18-40% are not working and the code is displayed as it is.

you can actually search for %columnspinfile-address_data.dat-1% in G and on some sites will find comments containing that code.

My versions are updated and I also see address_data.dat in right place- (C:\Program Files\GSA Search Engine Ranker\Engines)

Is anybody else facing this problem?

I didn't noticed this, but I don't use spinfile-folders anyway. But this is dangerous for people who are using it. The footprint shows 571 pages which contains the string. Could be worser - but there is a fix needed. THX for letting us know - I like how strong the "SER community" gets.

EDIT: I think you should send this one to Sven directly via SER (Help->Suggestion/Feedback).

I have the same problem, when i use "use contents of a random file" %spinfolder is displayed instead of the content.
And somtimes with %columnspinfile-address too.

[Question]

1) How exactly does the submission take place? I mean, say that I'm importing a list of scraped forums (after scraping with Scrapebox) - does GSA needs that I will use the homepage links, or any other pages (like for example a registration page) or that as long as it's a forum that GSA is familiar with it will automatically know how to post on it?

2) Further to the above - after using Scrapebox, I remove duplicate URLs. My question is - can I trim to root and remove all duplicate domains as well or to leave all the results (many pages for same domain)? What will give better results?

3) Does the answer to my previous questions stands for the other platforms as well (blogs, articles, guestbook, social bookmarks, etc...)

Thanks again for the help!

@s4nt0s did u ever get any news from sven about the problem with using site lists for projects and the log showing 0/0 found urls? and if the projects use the verified and/or submitted and/or identified lists?

Well he answered me a while back saying that it is working fine but I don't think he told me exactly which ones it uses. From reading the email it sounds like it will pull lists from identified/submitted/verified (all of them).

I'll also email Sven regarding this. Something does seem off with my recent wiki submissions too.

It would be nice if they integrated GSA to "load" proxies from a saved list every X minutes. This would enable easy use with Proxy Goblin or another higher end proxy finding software which auto finds, sorts and saves lists of elite proxies.

This would allow another program to test the proxies and GSA to just pull in the tested ones for use.

You can, this has been covered several times.
Someone posted in this thread how to do it

3.79 - new: improved email parsing
- fix: %random% and %columnspinfile% is now also replaced in TEST (was replaced fine on submission though)
- fix: using inurl:, site: or intitle: in keywords is no longer quoted for search queries

[Feature Request]

It would be great if we can have an add-on (or any other such feature) to verify and filter good sites from a list.

For example, say that I'm scraping a list of blogs to use with GSA. The problem now is that many sites in this list are not actually the platforms that I looked for (unfortunately even with great footprints you get many irrelevant platforms).

So it would be great if we can upload a list of sites and GSA will check the list and save (where I tell it to) only the platforms that it can post to. I mean that if we can upload a list of sites and it will sort them all according to their engines (blogs, forums, directories, etc). This will save a lot of time in the actual posting process later on)

What do you guys think?

[Request/Question]

I see that the "About Me" appear for the following platforms: articles, forums, web2.0 and social networks.

However, for the article platforms it serves a whole different purpose and needs to be written different since this is actually a resource box, which has to include links to the site (resource box many times is a description of the website than the author himself).

So can Sven add a "Resource Box" specifically to the articles module? And if not, how should we handle it?

Thanks

Sven said, "Well I might change it after vacation. Have to think about it."

I've noticed that if a project status is 'active (p)' when you run a program update it sets the project as 'active' when you run the program again. This causes SER to continue building links again until your predefined limit has once again been reached which, depending on your settings, might be anything from a few hours to a week or more before you actually want it to. Any chance of putting in a request for it to save the status settings when updating?

Another thing I'd like to see is a way of adding individual notes to each project. Something along the lines of right click on a project > notes, and then have a text file open.

Sven said, "Not really possible. He should change the option to "pause project after XX submissions reached a day". That will keep this in mind."

It already does this. Go to the advanced tab and click the tools button then go to import URL's and sort in (identify platform).
