Ok maybe this is just me but, i recently put my old ps2 up on gumtree for sale and have had a few emails back about it, and once i replied back saying it was still available i recieved this message.

Hi, Thanks for your quick response,i will be offering you 200 pounds for the postage cost via Royal Mail International Signed For, to my son who has just been posted to Africa (Nigeria) on a training course as a New Year gift as am on leave to Asia soon and have never been a good father to him and won't be able to receive the item here in UK.. do get back to me with the total cost and your pay pal e-mail so i can make payment straight away

Then after i had a email fro another person and also said it was still available and i recieved this.

Thanks for getting back to me,i want you to aware that ampresently.not in the States to complete the transaction in person andalso want you to know that am sending the item to a colleague for animportant purpose also an New year gift.I will be responsible for allshipping expenses via usps Express Mail (EMS),so i will add extra money forshipping cost......and i will prefer paying for the item via PayPal,soKindly get back to me with your PayPal email Address so that i cansend the payment to you as soon as possible..

Maybe its just me but is this some sort of con?

or take their money and do not post.......am sure it will be a fraudulent transaction bouce back anyway.....these messages are coming from 14 year old kids working in Internet Cafes in Africa with stolen credit card details....

NEVER trust someone who uses the word "Nigeria" in his mails. Nigeria is scammers-paradise.

Definitely a scam. I'm so sick of these emails every time I try to sell something on Craigslist. I just recently placed an ad for my MacBook and I got about 5-10 of these emails a day for about a week.
