GSA Search Engine Ranker - Extremely Powerful Linkbuilding Software (Free 5 Day Trial)

3.77 - new: added a new search egnine (bing clone ecosia.org)
- fix: bug in directory engines that keeps the submission type to popup
- new: allows you to select more than one file to import to site lists and import target urls

1) How exactly does the submission take place? I mean, say that I'm importing a list of scraped forums (after scraping with Scrapebox) - does GSA needs that I will use the homepage links, or any other pages (like for example a registration page) or that as long as it's a forum that GSA is familiar with it will automatically know how to post on it?
AFAIK GSA only needs to find the registration link/button. As long as it finds this link GSA knows what to do.
2) Further to the above - after using Scrapebox, I remove duplicate URLs. My question is - can I trim to root and remove all duplicate domains as well or to leave all the results (many pages for same domain)? What will give better results?
This is what I do, but I don't know if it is always the best choice. As GSA has the option to remove all duplicate domains as well, I think that this is safe. But only if you checked "avoid posting on same domain twice".[/quote]
3) Does the answer to my previous questions stands for the other platforms as well (blogs, articles, guestbook, social bookmarks, etc...)[
All I can say is that GSA searches in the source code of the homepage for potential engines. If it finds one, it tries to post to them.I'm pretty sure that Sven will answer all your questions in the next couple of days/hours, if S4antos has forwared to him :)

Thanks!

S4antos - please advise! :bugsbunny

I would guess a lot of the higher tier web 2.0 you HAVE to code to open an account and do nothing or post non-link crap for at least 24-48 hours. The ability to have a database of PLR for this purpose would be brilliant.

1. Open web 2.0
2. Post PLR article, no links
3. Update profile
4. Wait a day or 2, then post the actual content wanted with links.

After purchasing and using this for the last week, I do have a question someone here can probably answer. I have watched a bunch of the training videos but have never seen this mentioned.

example

A bunch of times I will see:

Submitted 400 Verified 56

Then upon further running on its own, it will start to count backward.

Submitted 399 Verified 56
Submitted 398 Verified 56
Submitted 397 Verified 56
.
.
Submitted 366 Verified 56

Etc. I have seen it count backward at least 50 after being at a stable submitted level for at least an hour ++ that I had it up on my other screen.

Why would it count backward - either submitted is true or not - how can it be "not true" hours or days into the future?

The backward counting happens pretty quickly - in about a 5 min period of time.

This has been mentioned a few times in this thread and a few in the last thread.

The submitted total subtracts one when it moves to Verified. It also re-checks the submitted ones a few times before finally giving up and subtracting it from the Submitted total. Anything listed in Submitted is new enough that it hasnt been given up on yet, but also hasnt been Verified yet.

Hey guys,

Thanks for everyone that helped answer the questions while I was gone today. It was much appreciated.

To everyone that posted a feature request/suggestion, I'll make sure and send it to Sven tonight.

1) From what I understand, GSA will try to find the registration page and if it "detects" the page then technically it can post to it. Of course if you do have the registration URL's, it might bring in a higher success rate.

2) You can remove duplicate URL's if you want or load them all in and the software will only post to 1 URL per domain if you have it set like that in the settings. You will see a lot of messages in the log that says, "already parsed" if you do it that way. You can try either trimming to root or loading all URL's and see which works better.

3) Yes

owk my GSA has been verifying linkf for almost 24 hrs now ...is that normal ? o.O

As Ozzy said you want to make sure its running on "active" and not "active verify". If you have it set to "active verify" it will only try and verify the links.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now for the feature requests that people asked. Here are Sven's answers:

1) For the guys that wanted that asked to have a checkbox in the verified links page to 'uncheck' links that will in turn not be used for building lower tiered links or a similar feature

Sven said, "We had this request already. I have it on to do list but still think its complicating things than it is useful. At least I will not add this for now."

2) Would appreciate it if we can duplicate a whole "Project" along with its sub-projects. It ain't working at the moment.

Sven said, "Put on to-do list."

3) Could Sven make a watch folder option as well? Anytime a new CSV/Txt is added to a specified folder it gets imported and activated. This would be incredibly useful for sending jobs remotely.

Sven said, "I will not add this for now"

4) How about adding a group of "English speaking countries" - that would save a lot of time setting up projects.

Sven said, "Added for next version."

[Request/Question]

I see that the "About Me" appear for the following platforms: articles, forums, web2.0 and social networks.

However, for the article platforms it serves a whole different purpose and needs to be written different since this is actually a resource box, which has to include links to the site (resource box many times is a description of the website than the author himself).

So can Sven add a "Resource Box" specifically to the articles module? And if not, how should we handle it?

Thanks

I've noticed that if a project status is 'active (p)' when you run a program update it sets the project as 'active' when you run the program again. This causes SER to continue building links again until your predefined limit has once again been reached which, depending on your settings, might be anything from a few hours to a week or more before you actually want it to. Any chance of putting in a request for it to save the status settings when updating?

Another thing I'd like to see is a way of adding individual notes to each project. Something along the lines of right click on a project > notes, and then have a text file open.

I've often thought this too. And it does get confusing at times. The only way I know to deal with it currently is to set up seperate projects for those platforms and tailor the about me data accordingly.

As far as I can see, there's no way to edit
project's details and options on the go.

Two days ago I changed URLs and switched to PR1+ only,
but the software keeps posting to pr0 using old URLs.

I have noticed this as well.

Once I setup a project and than let it run for a bit than go in and change a few things. The next time I start up the program. It will revert back to the old settings Than I have to go in there and edit it again. This is pretty annoying when you've got hundreds of projects going.

Yes. This has been brought up before and Sven liked the way it was set now. Some users want it that way and some users want it the other way but I'll ask him again. I don't see anything wrong with having another text box specifically for these type of platforms.

Well you should be able to edit the details and then eventually in the log it will say, "change detected - reloading project" or something a long those lines and then the project is changed. I'll ask him about this to see if its running properly.

It not only posts to PR 0, but it posts to them too. I've experienced this also. I think this has something to do with "use competitors backlinks" or something like this. Personally I think it doesn't make sense that such options override settings like "minimum PR". I also had the problem that when I've imported target lists with edu domains but set a filter to NOT post to edu domains it posted anyway.
