Not sure if this would work or not but if you purchased damaged phone on ebay then contacted apple for a replacement. Perhaps they cover certain damages with a standard warranty which came with purchase?..Just a thought.

that was china-made phones. A person who never had or never seen an original iphone before will be fooled that they are buying the original one. They are that good.

iPhone is also "made" or rather...assembled in china with some parts from korea (not designed ofcourse)

In fact, these "china iphones" is made in a similar way as the original iPhone, just that it was designed differently. And no, most of the time it was not the Chinese who designed these "china iphones". Hiphone is one example.

Now after being said that, is there a need for the original iPhones anymore? Fab? Face it, the functionalities are all the same...you can achieve and meet the same end. You decide.

NO. I bought the Sciphone i68 and its complete crap... the quality of it just sucks compared to the Apple.

I got mine for free on contract. I used to spend the same amount on airtime anyway but now I also get free data transfer so in fact not only I got a free 16gb iphone 3g they also pay for my mobile tinternet.

I would think it would be pretty easy to spot a fake especially when you are talking about something like a high end smart phone. You would think that that if you couldn't tell from aesthetic differences, that you could certainly tell from differences in the os and overall performance. If anyone has compared a genuine Iphone with a good clone, I would be really interested in what you thought.

99% of the time the $200 ones are going to be china fakes, branded as iphone, unless you find some desperate owner who needs to sell it.

this means you will overpay $100 for the branded fake which is most liekly the same quality as Cect i9/i68 ones selling everywhere for $90-$120 per unit.

Is it possible to buy an iphone in the USA without the contract with AT&T now? All the stores make you sign up for a contract
