Denver Massacre Batman Dark Knight Rises

Well the one mental issue he has is the inability to feel empathy. But other than that, he seemed like a smart, quiet, student type of guy. Maybe he was just tired of life and wanted to cause chaos.

Lots of sociopaths never really commit crimes, because even if they'd feel nothing for their victims, their own life would get more stressful and they could get caught.

you seem pretty knowledgeable on the subject any schooling behind you? Just curious

I'm wondering the same thing. He reminds me of the people on Criminal Minds lol.

I wish someone would have fired back at him. Out of all those people in the theater, surely someone would of had a license to carry?

It's not very often that someone with a license to carry faces a situation in which they finally need to use it but this would of been one of those situations.

Instead of 12 dead maybe it would only be 4 dead if a fire fight broke out with someone else carrying.

But everyone carrying a gun can't really stop things like this, and it has its own problems, with regular verbal and fist fights turning into murders. Remember, someone was able to walk right up to President Reagan and shoot him while dozens of trained Secret Service with assault rifles were right there. And to subdue him, they tackled him instead of shooting him and risking more life.

Very good point.

I don't think he's mental or crazy. He's completely sane, but a sociopath. No empathy for others.

Crazy people aren't usually PhD students like this guy was, crazy and psychotic people can't function.

I have seen many crazy Phd students , just saying.

It's not a problem with guns. 100 years ago people in America had plenty of guns, but nobody was going on psychopathic rampages.

There's definitely something wrong with modern society.

Yeah I agree. I don't think anyone thinks that limiting gun ownership is a good idea.

100 years ago, we didn't have many assault weapons. You couldn't shoot 71 people in one spree like what happened yesterday with an old 1912 hunting rifle.

But now every mass murder that happens in the US, assault weapons with extended clips are in the picture.

Well its sad that the guy decided to end it this way. I wonder what drove him over the edge. As stated he did it in full mental health so he must have had problems quite long time. I think 1 of the reason might be that today you can just sit in your house for weeks or months not socializing with anyone, or even if you are in school you can be alone hating everyone and no one really cares. 100 years ago you could not have done that. Doubt this is anything to do with politics atleast since he killed random people. Though dressing as joker "mad man" fighting(or terrorizing) agains't society makes sense if he just was so full of hate.

In 1966 Charles Whitman killed 16 people from the University of Texas tower with nothing more than a WW1 bolt action rifle. Granted, he was a trained marine, but this early example of a mass shooting goes to show that targeting certain weapons over others is nothing more than pathetic scapegoat.

I actually think you're onto something here. I majored in geography in college, and we talked about something called "urban isolation". It means that there are so many people around us that we tend not to socialize with them like we would in a small town. This is even worse in suburban neighborhoods where people hardly know their neighbors and use cars to get everywhere. No human contact. And remember, our cities are zoned and planned. If our government would actually create communities instead of suburban sprawl, we may not have such a problem.

Of course this is just one factor of many that may be causing these problems. My whole point is that we are losing our sense of community with other humans and I'm afraid some powerful people might be doing this intentionally. WHY they would be doing it I don't know yet...

There is no reason for this.

Unless we were there to witness EVERYTHING. We wouldn't know what kind of mental state he was in. I've been in fits of Mania that have lead me to do weird things(I was capable of harming another). That can last a day, week, month. However, his plan was so well thorough it was practically an act of righteousness. This is not a level of good mental health. Nobody in good mental health does such a thing. I'd be interested to hear more about the victims and how they correlate to him. Look what they did in India with the use of social networks. Shoot one, you have suspects. Suspects get shot.

I also believe this poses an overall threat to "national security" I'm sure big wigs see it like this too: We're vulnerable. A young man carried out such a ridiculous act. Went unnoticed. I predict more of these kinds of massacre killings soon enough, not to mention it just became EASY to do so. You don't even need to be a Graduate Drop-Out.

I really think these events are going to push 'merica into a society without guns? After all, the right to bare arms is constitutional via one reason only: for Citizens be able to overthrow Government. We know how much our loving government would enjoy something like that. This one incident I see impacting life for some time.

Well there definitely is some reason, he did not just get home from school and though fuck it, im going to dye my hair , paint my face and go pop some random people for fun. With mental health i ment that he was not in psychosis or such (dunno better word for it ).

The act itself is quite simple. Get gun and go some crowded place, then just aim and start pulling trigger. But he definitely knew he will get shot/death penalty/ jailed for life which means his life is over so he had the though he got nothing to lose anymore. Its not that easy to kill people if they are not diffefent of you nor you got anything to hate them for.

Its a good thing I didnt like the last batman movie, or I would have been there. It happened at the theater down the street from where I live. It was the same theater I went to for the midnight showing of the Avengers. Thank the lord the psycho thought he was the joker and not loki. I knew people that were there and am praying for all those still in critical condition.

The guy actually told the police himself that he booby trapped his appartment! What a nut job. He had a PhD in neuroscience and how it relates to psychiatry.

A forensic psychiatric assumes that he did this to gain notoriety, that he was way too paranoid and hated the society.

Anyways, anyone that doesn't have any humanity and actually shoots a 3 months old baby, murders a 12 year old kid along with 13 other people, and injures 40+ innocent people should get a custom made sentence without taking his human rights into account.

Its not that easy to kill people if they are not diffefent of you nor you got anything to hate them for.

You have to hate everyone to be able to kill anyone. (read this from a news site from a psychiatrist's point of view on this tragedy).

grand theft auto shit that is crazy he must have had some seerrrious issues

Just fucking terrible. People going out to enjoy a movie and wind up dead, absolutely ridiculous. It's amazing how humans can be both the smartest and dumbest fucking things on the planet at the same time.

I'm not buying it.

-A neuroscience student who could afford and/or access all that pricey gear? Who is he, Bruce Wayne Jr. or something? Where did the money come from for the gear?

-A single party who succeeded with an elaborate scheme, despite several eyewitnesses saying an accomplice helped him? Entering a one-way emergency exit without an accomplice is no easy feat.

-An elaborate plan that depended on a key detail (re-entering the emergency door) that was beyond one man's ability to control? Again, a witness claimed that a possible accomplice propped the emergency door open for the gunman to later enter, some 20 minutes after the film started.

-Presuming the kid could get the gear, he also had the training to use it, as a neuroscience student? Where did that come from, or more exactly, who gave it to him?

-A guy was able in only 5 minutes to walk to the parking lot, move the car, gear up completely, and return to the theater weapons-a-blazing?

-Another provocative incident with national political implications, that just happens to drop less than four months before the election? Along with a Senate vote looming on a UN gun ban treaty?

I smell a false flag set-up. I want to know why the witnesses are being ignored, the implausible profile of the shooter is being accepted, why the logistical details are not being discussed in terms of multiple culprits. I want to know why the first thing that happens in these local killing sprees that get national media coverage, is that the feds swoop in like lightning to take over the investigation, or more precisely, to shut up local law enforcement before they say too much and thereby blow the official narrative or cover story.

Those 'deep politics' details might reveal whether the main suspect is on/just off serotonin reuptake inhibitor meds, whether he was already under federal watch (or a federal leash), whether he was talked or shepherded into committing the act by federal agents, and so on. I suggest people not buy into the surface narrative or focus on 'this month's sociopath,' and ask for better answers.

I'm not buying it...

Monday morning they will have their plan of attack all laid out on how to use this incident to increase government's size, restrict rights & freedoms, create more laws, raise more taxes, go deeper into debt, create more law enforcement and military and build more prisons.

And I always wonder why these kooks do their thing at the movie theater, Luby's, etc... instead of at the State Capitol where it might do some good.
