How Can I Create a Site Like This??

First of all I hope this is in the right section.

I have an idea for a site but and I am sure I can create it with a bunch of different software and mix it together piece by piece but there must be a master template I can use to create something like this.

Basically, I am wanting to create a community based site with the following features:

**Bi-Weekly Contests**
A place where members can submit their entries and their entries can be seen and get voted on by the community.

**Social Networking Features**
I want members to be able to create profiles and have the ability to upload photos to their profiles. I also want the ability to create groups.

**A Forum**
(w/ an "upgrade membership" option)

**A Blog**


Here are a couple of example sites that have the kind of setup I am looking for. Does anyone know where I can get a template for something like this? My site wont be in this same niche but the idea will be the same.

I'm sure someone here in the hire a freelancer thread or other sites that offer services would be able to put up a site like that for you. But if you just want a skin or template try google. I googled forum templates and got like over a mill hits with sites offering free and paid templates.
Depends on your level of skills and available money to put into your project.

Thanks. What type of site template would this be called? A social networking site? Im searching for SN site templates now but I was hoping I could talk to someone who has actually done one.

you will also need to look at community builder for joomla and AEC for your subscription...

another cool feature to have would have been CB-APC (Advanced Profile Control) but it appears to be not support by the original developer, i know there is a break-away site that picked up on it...

A PMS system is also good to have but still after 4 years of using joomla i am still undecided which is the best to use...

if you have a relatively good VPS/Hosting you wont need a dedicated server till you start touching 5000+ members depends if you have a lot of video...

and its comuna2 template...

its not exactly straight forward to customize but its a good starting point for you...
