Hi guys,

I need your advice.

I have been registering my domains with GD for the past 7 years, I have more than a few.
Most of my hosting is outside GD and I am moving the last of my hosting out of there these days.

GD doesn't give me good prices on domains renew and want me to pay $90 in order to get good prices and more money to share the parking revenue with them. On the other hand I am used to their system and will have to go trough a lot of trouble to move.

So, do I stay with GD or move? If move so to where should I transfer my domains?

Thanks

See who is offering the best transfer deals and jump on it. Remember the 60 day rule at GD (not sure if it's still in effect though).

As for hosting; nobody in their right mind hosts at GD.

Thanks kvmcable,

Do you know about good deals at the moment?

personally I would move, I really don't like gd sometimes they take forever just to update their nameservers

$90 for what domain extension? May be its expensive on other registrars. If anyone beats this price, go ahead and move the domains, it wouldn't harm anything.

As soon as I hear the words "Go Daddy" I shudder. How they're still in business I don't know..
I've slowly been moving my domains over to namecheap/internet.bs

I advise you do the same!

Arvixe (in my sig) give free .com with hosting. and free whois privacy if you want it

I would recommend namecheap. I used arvixe years ago...they give you 1 free domain when you open a hosting account. In my case, I own over 4K domain and 1 free domain is a waste of my time.
Another question to ask is, what do you do with the domains? in my case I have to diversify my domains across 2-3 registrars.

I always change the Domainhoster, depending on the price.

There is not a really big difference between the Major hosters, so there is no need to pay more.

I had the same way like u, before ALL Domains (~300) on GD, but renew prices, privacy etc. is to expensive there.

So i changed to Namecheap, if they have offers.
So i changed to Register/Dotster, if they have offers.
So i changed to Namesilo, they have in general good prices, and also coupons.

Now fact is, if domains are going to expire, i look about 3-4 Hosters about the prices (transfer or renew on the existing) and then i change/renew.

On GD i only have about 30-50 domains left and i am sure, after the end of the year 0.
