Blogger/site structure questions!

Hi!
I read a little bit on the forum and let me know if i'm right!
For a good rank in google i need a main page with an article based on my main keyword and on the other pages articles based on the secondary keywords right?
Like "dog food" on the main page and "little dog food", "big dog food" , "Flying dog food" on the other page right?
Can i write only 1 article for keyword or i need a lot of articles for 1 keyword?
