Interesting Penguin Problem...Anyone Experienced This Before?

Ok so here's the story.

I have a site that's been hit by Penguin and I've been trying to fix it for a while now. I've come to the point where I'm ready to just copy all of my content to different URLs. Yesterday I tried a couple of different things:

1) I copied a page that I used to rank 1# for and changed the url (something like domain.com/blue-widgets to domain.com/widgets-blue) and removed all the internal links
2) I did the same thing I did in step 2, but kept changed the internal links to the new URL
3) I copied the content and posted it on my blog subdomain

So far, methods 1 and 2 have failed to even get the damned page indexed. When I did number 3, however, the page was indexed within an hour and was ranking page 1. Then, the ranking disappeared.

Has anyone experienced this before? This page have been removed from the SERPS because the content is duplicate? I want to get this site producing again (it's an authority site that used to rank for like 1k longtail KWs,) but I don't want to waste me time copy everything over to the blog only to have the rankings disappear!

Well the thing is that the page is indexed...in fact it indexed quickly and was ranking on page 1. However, it disappeared within 24 hours while still being indexed. What's really strange is that the original copy is still indexed, the second copy is not indexed (both the orphaned page and the page once I changed the navigation,) and the blog post IS indexed but not ranking anymore.

What the hell is this? Any ideas anyone?

if you copy the content to a new url and 301 the old url to the new url, the new page will start ranking pretty good but after 2 weeks or so it will get penalized.
there is no real method to fully overcome the penguin penalty

Maybe you had to redirect the old page 301 >> to the new page and use unique and quality content. Also build some links for anchor and source diversity with raw links and generic + long tail keywords to both the old and new pages.

It's probably because your logged in and Google is skewing the results based on what you have already looked at. I have had strange results like that before that disappeared after a day or two.

I think google is smart enough to see you moving the penalized content to a new page/sub domain
the trick worked for a little time till the penalty was applied
