Google punsihed me #4 - #386 :(

Damn google gotmad at me for adding a affiliate link on my site and send me from #4 to #386
i hope i will recover again and then take this as a lesson and lern how to cover my links...

It's impossible. I have websites, both in English and some other international languages, with affiliate links and have never felt Google has made any difference.
It must be something else.

Well can be affiliate link to Clickbank or adscend content lock one of those

the same dy i did add link to a site with adscend content locker but i dont know if it is the normal clickbank link it did see or the contnent lock i added that pissede it off.

Through an affiliate link? Really? Hm that's interesting. For the future, try perhaps a PHP redirect so that it'll mask your affiliate link, yet still take your users to the same spot.

Lots of people have complained of rankings drops today. Some have speculated it's another Panda refresh. Google doesn't drop sites for having affiliate links on them lol.

i hope it is the link and not another google update...

i have 3 other sites where i did use same seo strategy but non of them droped a spot..

i did have a link to another domain i have with a content locker and the reason i did it that way is to keep this site clean..

I think you do a some spammy work on your site, i never saw this you added the affilate link and google spam your site this is not the reason the reason is another i think you do a some spammy work on you site.

What the hell is google's problem? They will lower your rankings, email warn you and possibly fine you for posting affiliate links?? Is there a way around this because clickbank mentioned (in their do's and don'ts) something about how masking/cloaking your affiliate links might cause problems with payment, so how do you get away with having affiliate links on your website then??

As ou can see alot here dont think it has anything to do with my affiliate link.

I did remove it but if that is the reason will google then give my old serp ranking back?

I don't think it's the affiliate link that caused that. I think it's just a coincidence. I've changed affiliate links plenty of times for testing purposes and haven't seen any rank drops.

I don't think they punish you alone, there is another thread here created today with a lot of people (incl. me) who are undergoing big slaps from google. I had/have #4+ with 10 keywords and since yesterday night they all dropped and they are not even in the top 100's anymore.

It is not confirmed that google did another update, but it's very plausible they did.

i have domain for example blahblah.com now its not even showing up for the keyword blah blah :s i dont know whats wrong may be i have a SEO service goin on it can be a gooogle dance as well :s i have got my fingers cross :s lets see what happends now :s

Baldor did you by any chance contact google to ask whether or not the affiliate link contributed to this? Hopefully it's not related but it sucks if it is!

I don't think that affiliate link will cause such drop.
If Google hates affiliate, then why are the affiliate company's site still standing strong?

I guess it's related to what you've been doing to your sites recently, or simple minor update of google algorithm..
