My brother and I had this idea to try to save college kids money by offering alternatives to paying $4.00 for red cups at local convenient stores or 2.99 for a pack of 6 pong balls. The idea is to sell red cups and balls online to these kids in massive quantities, like packs of 1000 red cups, or 50 - 100 balls. Pretty much this gives kids the opportunity to alleviate the stress constantly replenishing their stock of these supplies by giving them the opportunity to buy all they will need for a semester or summer, at once and saving a good amount of money. It might not be the greatest idea but I thought it was worth a shot because the margins would be so high. Even with the high cost of shipping, my margins are still almost 30%.
Here is a list of the products and prices:
Red Party Cups:
100 Count - $15
250 Count - $25
500 Count - $35
1000 Count - $70
Plastic Pitcher 60oz
1 Count - $6
5 Count - $25
Plastic Shot Glasses
50 Count - $10
100 Count - $18
Pong Balls
25 Count - $7
50 Count - $12

I made the online store in an hour and a decent looking facebook page in another hour. . (its called "Bulk Party Supplies" if you want to check it out)

But anyway I need some ideas on how to drive traffic and potential buyers to the facebook page and eventually the website.
Any information would be most appreciated
Thanks John

Hate to burst your idea but as a college kid, I know that most are cheap and not many are willing to spend good money. Most aren't making big bucks on internet marketing. Most have some crappy job, getting paid a few bucks an hour so college kids only buy WHAT THEY NEED. College kids don't plan ahead and buy in bulk. This is just my opinion, though. If you really think that it will succeed, then good luck but I just wanted to give you the heads up.

you can advertise with this: https://accounts.google.com/Service.../um/gaiaauth?apt=None&ltmpl=jfk&sacu=1&sarp=1
or this: http://www.facebook.com/advertising/?campaign_id=402047449186&placement=pflo&extra_1=0

Good luck!

yes I understand what you are saying which is why I not only have refrained from investing large amounts of money or time into this project but also have requested the assistance of members of this site to potentially produce some forms of free advertising and marketing.

I can't think of way to target college kids for "free" unless you did seo.
