Hi. I'm planning to build an amazon site. I have an EMD with a keyword for a specific category. However, I noticed that the top 4 are authority sites like Amazon, Walmart. I want to know if it is possible to outrank these sites, especially Amazon since it is no1, using an EMD?

I also need this answer.I have some keyword where amazon is ranking #1.

Yes you can. Google displays these standard shops because they don't have a website with good content (like yours in the future)...

No need to outrank amazon. All you need is to know how to "bake and sell cookies". Research and innovate...believe me the answer to making money online is right before your eyes.

Because you have no idea what I know and what other people know. I give back to you the "useless response".

Tip: it's not allowed to discuss here at bhw. Understand?

In all the posts I have read on this entire forum, that is the most useless.

Yes you can easily outrank amazon with the right SEO and a EMD.

Yes, you can easily outrank amazon with unique content using keyword, using image with tag, image optimization is key and EMD.

I'm not sure what your trying to say. But I have already tried affiliate selling and it worked for me. So now I want to try being an Amazon affiliate. I know there are other 'ways' to make money online. I tried some of them, but didn't work for me. I'm trying to focus on one method at a time before going on to other methods. Eventually, I will learn what works for me and focus on those methods only. Hence, I want to try the Amazon method.

As for the rest who say that it is possible to outrank Amazon on the no.1 spot, I suppose you have all had first-hand experience on this?

Sorry for responding vaguely because the particular discussion is not allowed here at bhw. But do get in touch and I'll find time to let you know. Good luck.

I have never had an issue outranking Amazon or the other Big Sites - just a matter of time really.

I don't think you can out rank. It is not work with negative SEO. Because of the authority.

also the point is this - if your currently targeting

Big Green Bananas as an example and there are 30 Large Scale Sites ranked highly and its going to take 8 months to be competitive

then just target Big Green Banana Reviews / How To Buy The Best Green Bananas / Cheapest Price Best Green Bananas / Cheapest Green Banana Accessories -------------- there are always alternatives that get some traffic that you can make money with

but your supposed to figure this out before you buy the EMD.

Good Luck

I would like to PM you for info but I do not have enough posts :[

Yes you can, but I wouldn't call it easy. It is certainly doable, but it will take time and hard work.

Yes, you can beat amazon. I have seen many EMD sites with zero PR beating amazon and other authority sites but you have to do proper on-page and off page SEO.

I don't think OP will understand it. Also as a newbie he will get busted if he doesn't know all about this "baking stuff". :D

All of my EMD's out rank amzn so yes it is possible.
However, it all depends on your keyword research which is critical.

Yes, you can outrank amazon. I will suggest some point like
you have Good site architecture, user friendly, Provide very informative and unique content so that others would be encouraged to use your site as their reference, Acquire more deep links from relevant sources to each page that is more than your competitors.

Yup. I already did that. I'm targeting a fairly easy keyword with decent searches. I'm just worried with the no. 1 position being Amazon.com itself.

Really? I find your comment insulting. Its like your saying, "We know something you don't, but we're not gonna tell ya coz I don't think you'll understand." What the F? I may not be a Jr. VIP or a long-time member. But I spent a lot of time trying to learn IM and SEO on my own by reading and researching a lot. I may not be able to understand some things at first, but I have the eagerness to learn if I have to. So if your not going to share it, then just keep quiet instead of posting some useless comment that neither helps the topic or to the community.

Thanks for the pointers. I'm planning to make an Amazon store, so I'm still trying to figure out what would be the best structure for the website.

To all the others, thanks for the feedback. I'm sure this thread will also help others who have the same question in the future.
