[Help] Money Gone To Waste

Over the past two years I have had a content farm style of website developed. I hired a company to develop it when content farms were in their peak and doing very well. I put in a lot of effort to design the site but I cannot rank any article anymore. It has not been released to the public but I wrote about 20 articles and threw it up on the site. I have invested a lot of money into this site and I cannot let it go to waste. The site at the moment has many categories such as health, environment, music, etc.

Personally I used to write for some websites and make a decent bit of money from the effort I put in and this inspired me to start a website which I really regret but cannot turn back now.

I need your opinions fellow members. Did I just waste a lot of money or is there a way to get out of this mess?

Well how much traffic or revenue does it bring in? Selling it is always an option.

Another idea is to get into contact with a bunch of article writers and rewriters. If you have really good content on a vast majority of things, you could charge them to be able to rewrite and reference your articles for their clients.

Right so then you could offer the existing articles as a database to other content writers. How many articles are on your website total? only 20?

You've talked about content and site design, but what about backlinks? If you have not been doing link building then you'll never know the full potential the site has.

all backlinks are to the homepage and they are all social bookmarks as this site is all white hat. I thought about backlinking but how can i create quality backlinks for every article published?

You need good and diverse backlinks. Buy some .edus, .govs, wikis, relevant high prs, etc or learn how to farm them yourself.
Are you also familiar with keyword optimization? If you're not optimizing for good keywords, you're gonna have a bad time.

I know a ton about blackhat seo but have never done white hat except for social bookmarks. I really dont want to do high risk methods such as link wheels etc.

Oh yes... nothing more white hat than pligg and scuttle links only to the homepage.

Forget your crappy social bookmarks and either get down to some real backlinking, or cut your losses, learn from mistakes and move away from SEO.
