GSA Search Engine Ranker - Extremely Powerful Linkbuilding Software (Free 5 Day Trial)

Question:

When I import a list of URL to the project, how do I tell GSA to post on the imported urls first?

After importing urls to a project I usually notice that GSA keeps searching for engines and posting regularly and then after a while, it starts to post on the imported ones. I would like the imported engines to go first.

Thanks

Thats just how it works atm.
If you want to post on imported ones straight away, without losing the ones its finding by its self, duplicate the project, delete url history and cache (from duplicate), deselect all search engines, then import into the duplicated project.

Some backlink indexing solutions group dozes of your backlinks and post them on the same page to crawl. This, combined with the use of private networks to index backlinks, are a couple of the reasons why I prefer to avoid these footprints.

You are right with the footprints, but to spam some logs or sites (and allways the same) to index backlinsk will leave a much bigger footprint I think (and costs a lot more resources). Atm there is in my eyes no indexing solution without any footprint - beside solutions with a massive overhead like creating a blog per few links and building multi-tier system to get the blog indexed which index the link itself.

I've discussed this directly with Sven before I bought SI from GSA. I told me he's not an SEO expert, he only know how to code and get such things to work. But other people told him to build such an indexer (which isn't something new, there were a lot of online tools which are doing exactly the same out there) because it works. In my eyes, this isn't the best solution to index backlinks and personally I'm using Lindexed.

Agreed, some extra reporting functions would be useful.
If you are currently doing testing, and would like to be able to group log messages, it can be acheievd fairly simply using notepad++

Choose save log to files, and when done, open it in notepad++. Then do search > find. Select the Mark Lines checkbox, enter in your 'find' text (eg. 'Download failed' and click find all. Then go to search > copy bookmarked lines.
Then open a new file, and paste.
You now have all 'Download failed' logs in one place.

Thanks for the notepad++ solution :) But the grouping is only one part of the whole. The other part is debug information. We need to know the errors as exactly as possible to find the real problem. Additionally we need to know best-practises related to content and where is which field used (for example that "about" is used for wiki too) to set up optimal content (can be too long or too short, sometimes is better to use one link, sometimes no link). Such information is essential when we want to improove the success-rate and restults.

Why aren't you using one of the indexing solutions which is supported? In my case, I prefer to use the CPU-Power and bandwith for other stuff than indexing.

I totally agree with this, the seo indexer should index the gsa links. Assphuckd if you want to run your large link lists for indexing, run them through scrapebox fast indexer or pay for external service.

The problem is that SI isn't fast enough to index the links which are found by SER - linkbuilding with SER is faster than indexing with SI ;) (unless you put 75% of the thread count to SI, and only 25% to SER). So it doesn't make sense to use it at all in my eyes (SB fast indexer does the same thing I think, but hasn't a direct interface to SER).

Yes i see that SI lags behind the SER, however if it would become a resource hog just to accomodate for peoples other link lists, i would not like that. Also people could bookmark their other links, run then through sbox, statusnet, lindex and other means which would also give a variety of backlinks to the links

Once again, agreed! I have been running this software for a while, and posted thousands of links, just testing testing testing. I have made a number of recommendations that have gone into the software, and will continue to do so.
I am 100% behind anything that improves testing and debugging.

A lot of your questions can be answered by reading the ini files in the engines folder - if i fully understood how the scripting engine works, the possibilities would be endless!

But why would you keep sending failed captchas to CS?
i think its best to set CS to retry 1 time, this way if the captcha fails first time, u are increasing the chances of success the 2nd.. before sending off to external service (DBC...) for paid solving. i think anymore than 3 tries will get u blocked from many sites, so IMO this is the optimal setup :)

1st!

3.51 - new: new engine TikiWiki added
- new: improved some engines again a little bit
- fix: possible captcha-skip issue on Windows8 systems
- new: ability to create site lists for each engine on success/verification or detection status
This allows you to use these sites on follow up projects (options -> advanced).

Testing this now.

A suggestions for SEO indexer would be to include a fast indexer mode for larger backlink lists. Running around 20 threads, it takes about 20 minutes to submit one backlink. This does not make SEO indexer feasible for large lists as 20 threads could only process around 72 backlinks per day. For example, a fast indexer mode could submit to the top 100 or 200 sites out of the entire list.

SEO Indexer is a good software title and its integration with Search Engine Ranker is nice. But a quicker and not so thorough fast index mode would be helpful to process/index large lists.

Keep up the great work GSA and thanks for taking this under consideration! :)

I agree with this. It would be a great option and I'll let him know.

I completly agree with you. But to give more exact information to s4nt0s or sven, we need to debug and know the basic stuff (see my posting above). We can provide more detailed information, but to do this, we need to know a little bit more about the basics and have the possitiblity to debug/detect errors.

The problem is, I am no expert with all of these platforms either. I'm a user just like you guys and not the dev so I don't know the best practices when it comes to how many characters go in article fields, wiki's, etc. Like someone mentioned before it would probably be best to read some best practices on AMR or any other software that was dedicated to that specific platform to get an idea of how they do it.

I do agree that the error logging would be an awesome idea and help us find out and tweak settings for a better success rate.

Thanks for the update notice. I think Lee is slacking again.

What what do you guys recomend? Captcha Infinity or Captcha Sniper?

havent tried CI yet, but CS is very stable and works well for me (i have never had it crash but others have), i think CI is still in early stages of dev so probably will be better things in the future for that

That's exactly my attitude too. I like to see a GREAT seo tool growing and have the possibility to discuss the possibilities with others and give inputs for improovements. With other tools this isn't possible so much, because they is no "direct connection" to the developer or their release cycles are really really long.

That wasn't any offense at all. You're doing your sales/support job more than well. But you are our biggest chance to get improovements into SER, that was the reason why my comment was related to you too. Best practices are a possibility, but the information out there is really bunchy, so trying it this way doesn't make any sense, if there is no good method to filter the feedback (of course this can be done with text-editors, but that's not efficient...). Also if we don't even know how each field is used, is useless to use best practises of tools like AMR. I'm sure you give your best to get this for us ;)

And I think when SER is growing that fast, we need here soon a sub-forum just for SEM... :P Doesn't make sense to discuss this advanced stuff here, if every n-th post is "what's better CS or CI" or "what's the best proxy service" even if this was answered X times in the same thread before.

I was a avid AMR user, Even helped Sniper Beta Test some things. I used AMR since the day it came out up until Penguin came out is when it lost all it's greatness. A lot of people didn't know this about AMR but you could harvest Blogs, and could register to other people wordpress sites and technically do a "Guest Post" and drop in your contextual links. AMR used to be so powerful, that i'd Setup a site, blast the site with AMR. And be able to rank for almost any keyword up to 25 million competing pages in less than 2 hours. Needless to say all those sites I did that with are now slapped

So, I've setup all my articles they way they are suppose to be and still hardly ever get Verified links from Article Directories.

I've got AMR too, but I don't count me to the advanced users. Perhaps you could tell us your best practises too? Where do you use urls inside the field? How many? What is the best length for title, summary, about and article? What's the minimum and whats the maximum length/word count to get the best out of it? There are so many factors.. (this is only article related, there are a lot other plattforms too). And that's again the reason why I'm voting for a advanced feedback/debug/filter function to analyse this stuff. If we put our knowledge together, we can get the most out of it, without beeing forced to debug this stuff manually for ourselfs and loose a lot of time.

I think this (strong feedback from advanced users) is also "the capital" of SER. There are a lot people giving nice input to improove it. And if it's getting improoved there are new buyers who jump on the SER train. So I think it's the best for sven also.

So can I run this baby straight from my PC or do I need to install it on a VPS server?

i got all excited thinking this was the feature i requested to be able to deselect verified links from being used for tier linking.. but sadly its not :(

@s4ant0s, did u have a chance to run that feature request by sven? did he give any indication about it being implemented? SER already basically does it when it re-verifies links and sets the no longer verified links to red, just a simple checkbox to set these (and any others we want) to not be used as URLS for tier links would be so helpful and save resources from building links to urls that our anchors aren't even on :)

Yes, all features people request I send to Sven. Gotta understand he has a ton of requests every single day. He gets to them as soon as he can but for some he doesn't find them that useful. I'll remind him again that you really want this feature.

And the pie chart is still broken... (shows for every plattfom 1). This isn't important, but I think this is easy to fix.
