I am new to affiliate promoting (did CPA prior), my question is how should the website be where the product will be promoted? For example if I am trying to sell this "Fix Windows Errors Optimize PC" program, would I create a Wordpress website writing reviews of it or something? I am really confused.

Thanks for helping!

A good way to start would be creating a wordpress page outlining the benefits of the product, and why people should buy it.

Do not blatantly write huge long paragraphs, but use bullet points instead.

buy an exact match domain if you can (ie - productxreviews.com)

At the bottom make a huge call to action (a big button that sais "buy now" or similar) with your affiliate link inside

On the right hand column of the wordpress page, offer a free ebook or tips regarding the product. Use an image of the book and below it, an email form to capture emails. (ie - find out 10 tips on how to so and so, download my FREE EBOOK today!). Collect emails and build a list, so you can repromote the product later on.

basic marketing 101

So just a plain article exclaiming the benefits of the product is enough? Or is there more work required?

No it is not enough. People visit reviews sites to help them make buying decisions and it is highly likely that someone who is visiting your website has alread carried out some research on the product. You have to make them take action. Besides telling them benefits, you have to tell them about your experience of using that product and compare it with 1 or 2 other products.
Writing reviews is the best approach if you can write unique review articles on your own or have money and skills to outsource that task to someone else on freelance websites. If you lack those skills, just advertise products on your web page widgets and before/after the post just like you advertised CPA ads (don't know how you used to promote CPA offers). If you already have blogs, put related affiliate ads in the sidebars and other areas of your blog posts.

So a basic affiliate promotion site should be a website reviewing the product with the affiliate link? Then just rank it on Google?

Yes, exactly and For your convinience to get a fairly good idea about how these things work, I suggest you to google search terms with keywords like "best [product class name] reviews" without square brakets and open a few review websites to see exactly what they are doing. In our example "product class name" could be "cordless vacuum". Cordless is the product class or type. Only consider developing niche affiliate websites. Don't go for general, high authority websites because they take too much time to develop and rank. Your website will be around a specific "kind" of a product. It will not be a website that has products from too many manufacturers and of too many types. As an example a good idea would be to create a website on a specific cordless vacuum cleaner.

So for like "best antivirus" I should create an EMD bestantivirus.com and then point out that this antivirus is the best and put my affiliate link underneath it?

Yes. I used the keyword "best" just to give you some idea. There are many "buying keywords" which you can use in your domain name. One has to do this because not all keyword combinations with "best" are available:
The affiliate market is congesting with time!
We don't always get the domain names with keyword "best" before them.
I suggest you to Google the term "list of buying keywords" and get that list. It will help you create your domain names. Take an appropriate buying keyword out of that list and put the rest of your keywords after it for making your domain name.
Further it is a full fletched area that demands learning and experience, so I suggest you to download video tutorials on physical product affiliate marketing. Before you spend your time and money, download and watch those tutorials and then implement them. There are tons of videos on Youtube. Check them.
