We all know that doing Internet marketing full time is associated with a number of benefits like:
1)You choose your working hours.
2)You have more freedom.
3)You can earn more in comparison to a 9-5 job and much more.
But what do you think about the problems associated with doing IM full time ? I will start with one point. In my opinion, it is hard to convince the parents of a working girl for an arranged marriage if you are into IM full time (or you do not have a real job). Let us discuss more shortcomings.
I think that IM has pro's and con's. Understanding those pro's and con's is important, because you can then modify your lifestyle and balance it out.
One of the hardest things about IM, is it inheriently lacks balance for most of us. For one thing, its a self-induced career path, which usually means that those that successfully make money from it are go-getters. That means its open to personal abuse. It is easy to get too wrapped up in it, and forget about other important things. One might think social interaction, sleep, healthy eating and hygiene are unnecessary. You can go days/weeks/even months without it. But the longer you go, the harder it will catch up with you. You need to maintain balance otherwise you will crash and burn. And since IM is mostly a solo path, there is no one to make you do these things, no forced holidays, etc etc.
Another thing is for most people it won't make a lot of money. Because the reality is that its not just that you make a website, and boom money appears. You need to understand a niche and really work on it. And the reality is stuff changes very quickly on the internet, and your income source could go away overnight.
It is not a quick-fix, and it is a lot of work. It is not for lightweights.
I am just starting to begin to crack it. I have wasted thousands of dollars (though luckily made most of it back, while creating some assets). But its taking YEARS and the more I learn... the more I realize I don't know!
