Anyone know what a tick is?

I had to go to doctor to get a tick removed...it was buried under my skin. and no, i did not notice the little bastard until he was completely buried. It didn't hurt though. You just want to get watch out for lime disease, red streaking in your legs.

Being a seakayaker I'm much more worried about these guys biting me than ticks. There is a 10 foot one living in the creek behind my house , and a 14 foot one living in the next creek up the coast.

(and yes - he IS eating a shark!)

Just get a lighter and burn it, he will leave you =) than put some alcohol where he was biting

OH, that sounds pleasant...hold a lighter to my leg until he crawls out...then what, go to emergency for 3rd degree burns?

fuck a tick.

IM from phoenix arizona and sometime although rare at least for me, a locust invasion happens out of no where hate that shit.

and when i used to live in mexico shit happened all the time. Its seasonal and i thinks its about that time now.,

i've removed a few ticks from myself when i was growing up in texas
i usually just gouged them and the skin around them right out of my arm/leg whatever they latched onto
lyme disease isn't because of a "poison" it's because of an infection from bacteria they carry
the flesh surrounding the bite could potentially be infected with the bacteria,
remove that and you're fine,
most people don't have the balls to gouge a bit of flesh to save their life though

Nothing scary about these creatures, they are just tiny spiders... They are tranferring diseases, but the risk is small. Mosquitos also spread contagions

This doesn't worry me at all, at least not in the way bugs do.

You dont know what you are talking about...
The risk is ******* HUGE!

Trust me on this one.

Yeah, well , no need to worry about it, not much you can do about the problem anyhow.

Thankfully tick infestation is really low in my place. But its full of mosquitoes lol.
