how many can you send / day?

U can use a VPS + few ip's & interspire email marketer .
BEfore u start check if ur hosting ip adress are not marked in spam lists .
For example if u have 10k - 100k emails ,
- Create email lists with max 20k emails .
- Set interspire to use SMTP account to send emails .
- Set CronJob to run send mail every 5 minutes
U shood have very high delivrery rate .

If ur hosting Dedicate / VPS use more then 10 ips and u send via exim or smtp u can add rule via iptable to randomize ip's for a higher delivrery rate ... !

I am also looking for a solid emailer. I only need about 4,500 emails blasted per week, but I need to inbox these emails. I have tried services before with horrendous results. Using some of these services, I have only gotten 100 opens out of 4,500 sent. I would get much better results with mail chimp, but they ban me way too fast. Looking for reliable help.

Check out mailchimp. You can use it via Google Apps as well, it's got a lot of features.

Are you suggesting this option for 'optin' emails or harvested or purchased emails? My emails
would be highly targeted yet harvested, and in small volumes, 5K per day.

I have used Constant Contact in the past, however they are very quick to ban if your open ratio is under a certain threshold - I did about 3 email blasts over a month and half span before they banned me. We also used I-Contact - the service was okay however with each email blast, they kept requiring changes and updates before they would approve it. Now we use Vertical Response, and have had sent out about 5 email blasts without any problem or hassle. We try and target our blasts, most range between 3500 - 18000 recipients.
