Tor sucks IMO but are you disabling flash, quicksilver, java etc? If not your ip is still possibly leaking out.

Why don't you try other VPNs hundreds out there, I use the Pure VPN service and it's damnnnn good. I've worked with several proxies before, but nothing beats the experience of working on the Pure VPN. Get it without a second thought! :china:

This is very interesting, cuz I can use Tor to hide my ass, totally. Everything depends on how you set Tor up. Yeah, Tor can be set up, a reason for that is because it generates random proxies from different places of the world, all the time when you open it.

If you want Tor to generate a specific proxy every time you open it, then you have to set it up (this is very easy to do). This way, you'll make Tor generates the right location you wish and avoid being blocked, there are sites which block some location. That's the reason and make people think that Tor is useless.

If you don't want to set Tor up with the location you wish, then, you can use a nice free and paid VPN: proxpn.com

Other than downloading pirated content, are there any black hat things related to increasing web traffic that people do at PirateBay that would make them want to be anonymous?

Tor exit nodes identify themselves as Tor network...so they could just be blocking all Tor traffic.
