Got a EMD, site set up, now what?

dcuthbert- holy cow, yeah, I did buy it from you!!! I loved the domain as soon as I saw it, and hopefully I can turn it into something. At the very least, I'm hoping to earn a bit of revenue from it, and slowly, but surely, I'm on my way with it.

Yeah, redit and dig are places i need to get into. Are there automated tools for this or maybe fivvr gigs that can help? Or is it better to just go over there and spend a few hours posting it everywhere?

are market samurai or traffic travis available for Mac? I think they are just PC...

google says the competition is low

ok, I'm up to 245 uv today, and still going. looks like the forum stuff is working, getting some more from pinterest, a few more from facebook. it looks like things are starting to build a bit, people are sharing stuff.

just need to keep this up until I rank on google. I'm making some articles right now for squidoo and hubpages. I think those might actually get me some exposure.

looking at my stats, I'm getting over 7 pageviews from visitors from pinterest, and over 5 from FB visitors. My forum visitors are averaging 2 pv each. That's pretty good. That means people are coming to the site and looking around.

I hit 441 uv for yesterday. those forums are really paying off.

I'm also now on page 3 for one of my keywords!!!

So, how do you guys track your position on google? Any good tools?

looking at my competitors a bit, who are ranking in the top positions. They don't have much text, either. no backlinks on any of them.

so, once my backlinks start getting indexed and I get some more text in better places, I should start moving up, I would think. I think I need those squiddo and hubpages, maybe I can knock those out today.

ok, sorry, I thought the point was to post our results and the things we are doing...

well, I'm hoping to get some feedback, and so far, the few ideas that have been posted are good ones. I don't want to be a spammer, though, so I'll try and limit things to just one update a day. I do hope that others can benefit from this as well. I'm just doing the basic stuff, I'm not an expert, and I don't really have any tools, so everything is basic and manual.

Google's comp is related to Adwords comp - low means that there aren't many sites running Adsense campaigns for that keyword. Basically means the chances of showing targeted Adsense ads is reduced compared to keywords with High comp. SEO competition is different.

Not sure whether they're available, but if you need a market samurai report then hit me up.

You were lucky actually, another guy came along 2 days after I sold the domain to you and offered a lot more money for it! Weird, I had tried selling it 3 or 4 times with no offers but then 2 come along at once!

I don't really use Digg, but I use Reddit regularly - there's a sub-reddit specifically for my niche, so I manually post some links there. I throw some other links in as well, so no-one has ever complained about me spamming my own site. As long as you don't go overboard with it, there shouldn't be a problem. Targeted traffic from Reddit converts well into subscribers, but I've noticed that I hardly get any Adsense clicks from Reddit visitors for some reason.

I use Market Samurai personally - if you can afford it and its available for Mac its an awesome tool. The other tool I used to use was Internet Business Promoter, there was a nulled version here somewhere.

no market samurai for the mac... :( I'm just going along with SEOQuake right now and getting data on this niche. There is a lot of top sites that I think can be beat, but maybe not the top 3.

I'm doing ok with traffic, even without ranking on google, so I'm just going to continue to do what I'm doing.

I'm over 200 uv for today, still not ranked very high on google (page 3, I think), but still, that's not bad traffic for a new site.

yes! I got market samurai for the mac!

I just checked my position on google today.

main keyword - page 1, #9 (top keyword, 9900 exact searches a month)
secondary keyword - page 2, #1
long tail keyword - page 1, #9

I'm also on several of related keywords, but usually page 3-4.

This is without any major SEO stuff at all! All I have done is posted in a few forums.
