I'm at the point now where I have finished traveling and some niche websites are just about paying my rent. Now that I have a new job in SEO I want to invest money into my websites to clear my student loan debt and taking flying lessons.

I've always written the posts myself for all my sites but i'm not a writer and while I want to pump out 5 posts a day I have to be honest with myself that I prefer to fiddle around with websites and code etc.

So, I need to produce content either spun or hire a writer..

Which one do you think would be best for a long term future with my website? I know spun would be attractive, less money etc and a good writer will be hard to find and expensive..

Just wondering people's thoughts on each one.

Thanks

Do not go near spun content as long term you will lose out on quality and revenue

Worst case scenario with spun content will see penalization and de-indexing

Yeah I did think that Google will no doubt be able to tell pretty soon with advancing algos

Then, how do I know my writers aren't spinning content??

Might have to write the bloody things myself!

I would always prefer hiring a medium quality writer over spun content.
Some nice writers can be found at odesk, fiverr, DP etc.

Work with a writer here on BHW who has 100% iTrader and you will get genuine original content!
Was going to post this.

I agree, why not find a writing agency/group here on BHW that sells articles?
I found some great trusted users that offer $1/100 articles, handwritten.

IMO, this is the best quality at a cheap rate.

I prefer to write my own content when I have time. I always dread it, but find that after the first one things flow pretty effortlessly and before I know it I've written 5 or 6 good articles. Other than that I outsource to folks who I know will produce good, unique stuff. Writing yourself forces you to become more familiar with whatever niche you're trying to gain ground in...the more you actually become a personal authority on your topics, the better your results will be in the long run. This doesn't happen with spinning or piecing together other people's stuff.

Google is already catching spun content. See Penguin.

I agree with the others. Spun content is out. Original, useful content is in.

When you guys say that spun content is out, are you referring to the site's content only or are you saying this for the content of the links coming in your site?

All my site's tier 1 and tier 2 content have been spun content and I haven't had a problem.

This. I would only use original articles on my sites, but in the links spun content has been great. I highly recommend veheme's services :)

Wow thanks. I didn't expect that. If I remember correctly, you have bought 1-2 months ago, right?

Moneysite I'd use original content. Tier 1's I tend to use original too. Tier 2's however, spun works for me.
