Over the last couple of years I have been one of the members who tells others who ask how to make money to "read the forums" "use the search function" and so on. Well I have been a half hypocrite. Even though, I have never asked how to make money or anything, there is still something that I have always wanted to get into, but just never had the nuts to start. That is SEO! And I feel like if I can tell people to read the forums for this and that, then I shouldn't exclude myself from that advise. Also, to prove that anyone can do it with any budget, I will use a free blog, and all free resources. So here's what I am going to do.

My Goal
My goal is to create a free blog, and get it to the first page, then put adsense and cpa on it and start earning money. I'm gonna give myself 3 months to do this, and once I have been successful then I will choose a newbie to give the site to.

Goal #1: 1st page within 3 months with multiple competitive keywords (atleast 3 keywords)
Goal #2: $100 a day within the same 3 months

Plan Of Action
My plan is to first, spend about 2 weeks reading the seo forums (both blackhat and whitehat). Then I will take what I have learned from those threads, and I will implement to my free blog. Then once I have made it to the first page, I will monetize the site. Then at the end of the 3 months, I will hand the site to a newbie.

Summary
I am taking my own advise, because it is important to lead by example. I will do this completely on my own, without asking any questions what so ever (that means if I ask any seo questions on any thread at all or pm, I will have failed) This is not a "follow me" thread, but I will still post here from time to time to report my progress, so anyone is welcome to follow if they like.

I only ask one thing of everyone here..... Wish me luck! :D

Your gonna get 1 site to $100 a day within 3 months with no SEO experience and no money? good luck.

New to the site, i was thinking of doing the same just to get my feet wet with this.

Hmm... free site? I'd recommend getting a .com domain instead. blogger and wordpress.com blogs aren't too good when it comes to ranking, unless you are pro at SEO and the competition is low. On top of that, I'd recommend getting the free wordpress.org CMS and getting a high CTR theme that has been nulled here on bhw if you'd like to start off with little invesment. If you really can't, then I'd recommend to get a really low competition keyword to use with your blogger blog, and build up enough cash to buy a .com later on.

As for hosting, get the hostgator baby plan. I'm not trying to be an affiliate with hostgator or anything, but the baby plan proved its worth when my site was getting 30k visitors/month. I really liked it because it was easy on the wallet. However, since you are starting off slow, you can always use free hosting like 000webhost. keep in mind though that once you reach 1k visitors/day, 000webhost WILL shut your plan down, and force you to upgrade. by then though, you would probably have made enough money to afford better hosting anyways.

Also, I love how your standards are high. Keep them high. It will allow you to strive for more and not settle for bullshit. I wanted $100/day too, but then I decided that $40/day is fine, and lost my accuracy and got lazy. I'm now making $10-$15/day from that one site. I made enough money though to buy 5 more sites that should be coming up soon.

This is my advice. You don't have to follow it, but hey, It'll show you where to start (this is how I started)

O.K. It hasn't been 2 weeks yet, but I got anxious and decided to go ahead and start on my blog. I am still reading through all of the seo threads, but I just wanted to get a head start. Below is a screenshot of the blog.

I just want to know if it is a good start. Please, no tips! Basically, I wrote original content, and tried to fit in keywords, (but not too heavy). I haven't done any offsite seo yet, and of course, it's just a start, so the post will be longer when I'm done. Just let me know if it is a good start (thats if you can see it lol). "Good start" or "Not good start" will be fine :D
