Does anyone pay for Yelp ads?

Some saleswoman has been contacting me trying to get me to buy ads on yelp for my local IT consulting business.
It's expensive, did any of you guys pay for it? Did you see a big increase in traffic/business? I'm wondering if it's worth it.

There was some one here a few months ago that posted something about using yelp and others instead of falling into the google trap and he seem to have a good "ROI" return on investment. I suggest doing a bit of search and then contacting this person so that he maybe give you some pointers on how to best get the most bang for your buck.

I'd be skeptical of someone selling that service. You should try it out yourself before you commit..

Not worth it. tried it with a restaurant client of mine for a while. Bad ROI

It will depend on your niche or business. Just like all advertising venues some work for others and some don't. You have to test it and see if it works. Try and learn from the avenues that already work for you and learn to compare the results.

IGNORE them. Most likely it's actually Yelp calling, they got a nice extortion racket over there. If you have no/mostly bad reviews they will call you and ring it off the hook trying to get you to listen to their 30 minute sales pitch. They harass the club (and me) I do social media for pro-bono all the time.

Yelp ads will work only if you have good reviews on your listing.

Paid yelp svc in my opinion are wack... My biz was averaging 100-120 view/clicks per the yelp tracking in the backoffice and after signing up for the 6month contract of 350 a month we average the same damn amount. My last month is coming up and we will be sticking to the FREE method with YELP.

We've tried. Horrible experience. The worst advertising ever IMO.
