I've been using GSA SER with CS and the GSA indexer for a little while now and love it, its really started to bring my sites out of the depths of no where land!

But was looking at UD sometime back and due to the cost didn't get it, now its got $100 off i'm kind of temped again.

I already have Scrapebox, GSA and CS plus i recently added ultimate comment scrapper so can i really justifiy the cost of yet another tool??
Will it actually give me much more than i already have with my current tools?

I'm relatively new to seo and still trying to get to grips with everything so would this just push me back trying to learn something new??

Tools like UD are great if you have multiple sites and have an SEO plan that you want to implement. But, if you're new to SEO and have a limited budget then I'd suggest learning SEO first and doing things manually or consider less expensive tools.

The grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence. I used Ultimate Demon for a couple of months and didn't really like the results I was seeing. Now I'm investigating GSA SER.

Got both - use them both all the time = captcha sniper (UD, GSA and CS now with 32 more captchs types specifically for GSA)

They are entirely different tools

UD is far better at making content filled context sensitive first tier links.
GSA is great for inner linking and second tier.

Yes - I know you can do either task with either tool, but they are much better suited to doing the jobs they are best at.

UD is at it's peak making WEB2,WIKI, Bookmarks, Video, Press release, and RSS submits surrounded by content
GSA can also do articles and Bookmarks, but is not as effective or as easy to set up.

GSA is great at finding sites with a decent PR to put some decent spun comment or profile on, the number of platofrms it supports adds great variation to a 1st tier linking campaign
UD can scrape and put spun comments on smaller sites like forums and directories as well. It's just not its forte

It's like comparing a firetruck to an ambulance. Both equally powerful machnies, both emergency life/property saving services - but entirely different.

There's lots of these questions on BHW. It's like saying "I have some money should I buy food or warm clothes"
Have a plan for linking, see what needs to be done, if either of these great tool automate your plan best effectively - and you can afford it, buy it.
But they are not the same tools and do different jobs. That's what you should base your judgement on.

Nearest tool to UD is SenukeX
Nearest tool to GSA is NHSEO ro Scrapejet

Best to have one tool from each category really, rather than choose between them - but that's just my opinion.

My problem with UD is not really knowing which sites to put in the 1st tier. You can't just choose your first tier based on PR. The page needs to stick for a while in order for it to be worth it.

I had a good list of Wikis, bookmark and Elgg sites, but some of the better Web 2.0s failed consistently when I tried to post to them. And I don't mean they were deleted afterwards. I mean UD couldn't register or post to them for some reason.

Some do fail, but I get pretty good success rates. (70%) with the built in sites.
So many factors involved.
Any site with decent PR or traffic that allows you to add contextual content and gives you a fixed URL to 2nd/3rd tier tlink to is a viable 1st tier link.

Code:
[URL="http://www.demondemon.com/2012/02/27/ultimate-demon-new-linking-strategy-part-2/"]http://www.demondemon.com/2012/03/04/ultimate-demon-getting-the-details-right/[/URL]

I go through this checklist with UD or SENukex (It's second nature now). For instance, some INSIST on a special charater in the password, some refuse passwords with a special character. Some have a maximim post size of 600 words (Some WIKI's are very strict on post size for some reason) other sites have a minimumn of 500 words.
You are treading a thin line to optimize submission for the best results. But there is a "sweet spot" and it's worth bearing in mind as you set up accounts and make submissions.
It's very hard to hit them all with one run. but you can still get great results.

My BIGGEST tip is - set up accounts first, leave it 3-4 hours. Run the mail link clicker (it's just a case of pressing one button) to confirm any late arriving emails to set up more accounts, and only then submit content. You only need to do this the first time you set up a new set of accounts, but it adds considerably to the amount that work. I guess some of them just take hours to mail you your sign up link.

Scritty are reusing accounts or one new set per job (or run)

Looking back at my links I still have a ton of boomark, wikis, and elgg sites linking back to my properties. Press Releases were a mess though. I didn't get very many article links, but a few pings are still trickling in from articles so it did work ok.

So, you might be right about the GSA/UD combo. It would give you good diversity.

Whatever you decide to do make sure you have access to an updated list of Wiki, ELGG, article and bookmarking sites. It's a pain trying to find sites to submit to on your own.

Somehow I have this feeling that this is a promotion of the cost reduction for UD. This even makes more sense because the tools compared are not even like eachother..

Nah, I think you're exaggerating. I really enjoyed scrittie's answer, it helped me to get the difference. I'm also thinking about adding GSA and/or UD to my software portfolio.

Dear Scritty,

I am very new to the site and definitely new to SEO. I have a 3 months old site and following normal SEO process I have managed to get in page 1 and 2 for some of the keywords I want. But I want to know, by using UD can I achieve higher ranking for my site. As I have targeted some keywords and want to do my own SEO work for my site. Is it idiot proof system because I am one of them. Can I learn it fairly easily? Do they have video tutorials of how to do and what to do ? sorry too many questions but if you would kindly help me then it will be great.

Kind regards,
Nayasha

I use an account per site for a few weeks. Then change it. I make a first tier (as per the video) then use it for bookmarking, RSS submission and all the rest. When the article/wiki/WEB2 accounts have 10-12 posts on each, and a few have started to fail (which happens) I ditch it and start with another.

I deep link 80% of the time to URL's I created that day, so very little repitition - I also syndicate the content I posted on my own website sometimes (with a link to the original as per Googles best practice) and that works as well.
