GSA Search Engine Ranker - Extremely Powerful Linkbuilding Software (Free 5 Day Trial)

do you think we could get a save settings and apply settings to projects?

i just went to an older project and noticed it was running completely different settings than my newer ones but its a right pain to go through and work out what i want clicked and what not etc.
also when an update is appiled the new platforms are not selected so your older projects miss out on the new platforms.

If you end up asking sven could you post what platforms post in which way.

Thanks

Ya I'll try to see what I can find out.

I can ask him about this. I doubt he'll want to change it to automatically select new platforms on older projects because some people might not want it to automatically select new platforms. I guess this would be a good on/off setting to choose.

If there was a setting to globally apply settings to checked projects that would make it easy too.

Ya I'll let him know.

Any link velocity recommendations for bum marketing pages vs moneysite links?

That's really up to the user. What has worked for my sites might not work for everyone else. If you want to be on the safe side then I would have it build x amount of links every x amount of time and see how the site responds. If it responds well then you can try increasing from there. Hopefully some other users can share their strategy/tips.

This software is an absolute beast! I can't wait to see what it has evolved into six months from now.

I agree. I mostly use the same settings in the options area for all projects, such as, Skip sites with more than, Skip sites with a PR below, Search engines to use, Bad sites list, etc, etc. If there was a way to save a set of default settings or, even better, multiple individually nameable sets of settings (handy when setting up different kinds of projects , e.g. links to money site, links to tier 1 sites, links to tier 2 sites, etc) it would make it especially easy to apply to new projects. So, ideally, the option should be somewhere to select "Apply default options to new projects" with the "default" choice being clickable so it can be changed to another user defined setting if need be.

I realize that the option exists to make a duplicate project but that doesn't always come without its problems. Sometimes it just makes better sense to start a clean project from scratch in which case the above would be of help.

To take it a step further, I guess it would be a great help when we prepare a new project if we could categorize it in some way with custom categories. For example, I would probably name some of my categories as 'Money site', 'Tier 1', 'Tier 2', etc. Then if we were able to assign one of the aforementioned default settings to each category we would save a lot of time setting up projects, and keep things a bit more organized. However, we should still be able to tweak the settings within the option panel if need be.

Just a suggestion.

I see a lot of people are asking for something like this. Sven has been notified about this feature ... I promise. :)

Go to your global settings tab where you enter your captcha details. The last checkbox says, "Finally ask user if everything else fails (else submission is skipped)". You need to uncheck that box and you won't get anymore pop-ups.

That box is already unchecked.

Might have fixed it by choosing "Random" on "If a form can't be filled" option. I'll let you know if it still isn't fixed.

Oh I assumed you already had that set. Ya then that was your issue .. select "skip" or "choose random" and you're good to go.

Why does everyone want a checkbox type thing to apply settings to multiple projects?

You can multi-select projects in the list of projects. Select them, right click, go to Modify Project, then to Edit Only Engines/Options. Then edit the options and they apply to all of those projects. This gets you the same thing.

Anyone ever have a problem on a computer or VPS where changing your threads setting doesn't actually do anything? My SER seems to be stuck running at around 5 threads on my new VPS, worked fine on the old one. Resmon shows SER around 40 threads when starting up (the regular program threads) and goes up to around 45-50 when SER is started. I can set my threads at 1, 50, 100, or 1000 and the number of threads SER runs does not change, and my CPU usage does not go up.

I sent Sven an email about this already, but he doesn't seem to know what's causing it. Just wondering if anyone here has encountered a similar problem and been able to fix it. So far I've tried disabling the VPS firewall and virus protection to no avail. I'm on bermanhosting if it's possibly related to the VPS itself.

Ok, with the Sky 3 package how many pages could I do SEO for at once? I have a lot of Web 2.0 pages and I plan to build a whole bunch more with the way Panda/Penguin has done my site.

What would be a really really nice feature would be some kind of scheduler.I know it has a build x links then pause for x time but it could that be tweaked so that you could have it build x links for a project then move on to the next, then go back to the first?

That way you'd have a round robin effect on the selected projects all having a kind of drip feed of links?

What you think?

What a great and powerful linkbuilding software. I will definitely have it asap. I will be back on this page after I got the budget. This worth a try. Thanks.

With the random number code
%random-<min>-<max>% - a random number between min and max
Can we use this in the forum nick box
ie {name 1|name2|etc} %random-<1>-<20000>%

that would be handy and save me a visit to random.org, but i just tried it (and a few others) and couldn't get it to work.

do you have to actually edit the project ini file or can you use the gui with these?
