Hey people!

I am having problems finding any way to check for backlinks to my wordpress site.. I have done alot of SEO and backlinking but I can't seem to find any tools that show the backlinks, or maybe I don't have any.. I've tried different sites but they display none even though I know I have backlinks out there.

Can you still get backlinks even if you don't have a robots.txt ?

What is you favorite software for checking backlinks to your site? If you use any reliable software please share.

Thank you!

I use semrush in checking backlinks. Btw what type of linkbuilding have you done to your site? It takes awhile to get your backlinks indexed if you haven't pinged them.

over the past 2 weeks I have done abit of everything really. forum profiles, social bookmarks, web 2.0 profiles etc. Some have been pinged.

I tried searching up my site over at semrush and same result. this is for both my sites.. but my second site was published not too long ago so I don't think it's even indexed yet.

Have you tried linklicious or lindexed, helps your backlinks to index faster. Also, check your links some might have been deleted or they aren't indexed yet.

Built my own as a wordpress plugin. It automatically checks any lists of backlinks i put into the plugin database using proxies. Integrates with proxy goblin or proxy multiply

There are a few options:

1. You can go to Google and type links: search operator. This won't give you all of your backlinks, but it'll give you some of the ones that have been indexed.

2. Sign up for free account of majestic seo and you can find relative domains and backlinks to your site. If you have the money I would definitely get this one.

3. You can also sign up for a free account on Open Site Explorer from SEOMoz.

4. Go to Blekko and use site operator Site: with your site and put /seo to find outbound, inbound links, an other seo stats. Although the backlinks here might be a little outdated, but you might find some backlinks you've neer seen before.

I use scrapebox backlink checker - it provides me with the longest list of backlinks

I use webmaster tools. It would not focus on which links you do have but better yet focus on which ones you are creating. Diversify. That is the point of organic search results.

Instead of backlinking for one keyword over and over try choosing 20-30 and rotate them along with your posting habits. Never let the same content link with the same keyword and keep it as natural looking as possible. That is my best advice.

Yes, don't use webmaster tools, you give to much away.

try keyword canine its great.

I like to use the siteexplorer info to check my backlinks, because it is a completely free tool, which people are very pleasant. You know.

I use ahrefs.com, which is my favorite tool. Not cheap though, but you can get lots of data from the free version.
