Negative SEO - is this really going to happen??

i have always thought, well believed, that rather than Penalize a site for bad BACKLINKS they just discounted them. Just felt this had to stay this way due to negative seo wars. i just got an email from BHW for a sales/service thread. talking about how sites are being banned for backlinking and such. i know a lot of people believe in the "dont play dirty, out smart them/out work them" however, if you are the only one not cheating you WILL lose. its like trying to become a pro athlete. you maybe talented but when average joe is pumping juice and taking your spot... what are you to do?? So here we are. Apparently G has opened the door for a sniper war and narcing war. Has anyone taken out a competitor yet?? i mean, THIS IS BLACK HAT FORUM, i dont judge. you have to do what you have to do. i just think that there are A LOT of desperate people right now.. (im not one of them, i dont have sites ranking, however i am pissy at how they are handling this and how people are pushing this) i remember a couple years ago on here people would TRY LIKE HELL to get their sites banned or dumped with XR and SB but they actually would end up ranking!! lol. anyways, im curious to the feedback ya'll have on neg seo and experiences...... do share. and for some reason i cant use my effin enter key!

I did negative SEO on a website last October... about 57k profile links in 24 hrs
I then pinged them non-stop for about 24 hrs straight. Within 4 days the site dropped 11 spots... within a month it was gone (it is now not even in the top 1000). The site did briefly recover for about 2 days before dropping off.

I assume these results can be replicated very easily post penguin. I'm still curious if I will use my Xrumer or not in the future for legitimate purposes (minus some guestbooks etc on the 4th tier and shit)... if not I will turn it towards negative SEO shortly.

It was much less certain before if it would work or not, but now it seems almost assured it would work with little effort.
Profiles and wikis seems to be on google's shit list for backlinks... so I'd start there.
You may boost the site temporarily, depending on how penguin treats it, but during a refresh it should get crushed (if not crushed outright to begin with)

All I did was run xrumer until it went through the same list of domains about 4 times, all with the exact same anchor to the homepage of the site.

Why negative SEO?
If you kill off any surviving sites that have a high level of invested money/time into their sites... the results will just get worse for quality. As a result it will force customers to do one of two things:
1) go to a different engine
2) dig deeper for what they're looking for

Since all of my sites are top of the ranking ladders on all terms I care about on Bing/yahoo, and I have a lot of new sites that are ranking ok (nothing like the results I used to see though from this kind of link building), that should be only helpful.

But honestly, who isn't curious about negative SEO right now? Hell, I'd like to make one or two sites that somehow survived penguin miserable like the rest of the SEO universe, because they actually had to build their site up through a lot of affiliates (which are extremely expensive links to have).

Yes it works, its been documented a couple times on here that it works. google needs to fix this because for them putting neg points to bad links opens the doors to competitors. Only sites that cant really be knocked off are the new york dailys and the amazon's types but everything is open for neg seo

Its very ugly that why people need to become free from google dependance. email lists, facebook fans, twitter pages etc etc. use other forms of traffic because you can rely on google

Google knows about it, they just choose not to address it.

Big brand companies already have a solid link profile and negative seo would have either little or no effect on them.

Except for the giants, everyone is vulnerable. However we should start coining a different name for negative SEO, as it is SEO.

In other words SEO means getting a website higher in the SERPS, this can be done by increasing the ranking of your site or by decreasing the ranking of all sites that are higher than you in the SERPS. So eventually you are doing SEO for your site. It can be done and it is beign done for quite sometime now.

Sadly a person can top a class either by scoring great marks, or by spoiling all other kids.

The downside to this is, people use an engine for the quality of its search results (organic results) not its ads.
Google's taking the stance that their customers CANNOT leave them (monopoly thought process)... we'll see if they're right or not. If negative SEO becomes a huge problem (which it probably will be within 6 months) google will have to step in or risk their entire customer base. If they're willing to risk it, they may survive, they may not.

My XR / SB tools are running 24/7 posting over a million links a day and not a single one on my properties. I typically have several dogs in the race for targeted kw phrases and currently the surviving dogs are the ones I spent the least amount of effort with linkbuilding. So I'm just clearing the path for those to reach #1. Analyzing why Google penalized my previous #1 websites makes the job much easier.

As for caring about my fellow man and such, I give them the same consideration I know they'd give me. For all I know they filed snitch reports on my websites. I believe that is how business works. My properties are going to #1 because that is what I get paid to do. If anyone gets in my way it's just too bad for them. All is fair in love, war and business.

Google has opened padora's box and I'll be damned if I sit here and watch my lazy competitors benefit because Google changed the rules to penalize webmasters that actually worked on building backlinks while rewarding webmasters that did nothing during the last 3 years.

I got a friend om mine that had over 1000 domains in the ALN network and we did a case study.
Blasting two sites with spunned articles pointing to the two sites using same anchor.

One site got wacked, the other one is still ranking #1

Major difference between those sites?
Site still ranking nr#1 is a major AdWords players.

Probably nothing but a coincidence but I guess we'll never know.

Most niches have fewer than 5 targetted players... even very large niches have less than 10-15 serious ones.
Sites are VERY infrastructure intensive... I'm not sure people appreciate this fact completely. If a bot can murder your efforts overnight (which definitely is possible and even easy) then no one will continue to build online infrastructure for google (unless they find a niche without such insane competitors willing to go to those lengths)

I cannot imagine how this will be good for the internet.

A competitor blasted around 10k spam blog comments to my site, a week later it got a -50 penalty.

Somehow I found out who it was... I went and retaliated, I fired 60k blog comments at it and guess what? It increased in rankings! lol

It's been a few weeks and I've yet to see any penalties on his site.

Weird... I guess I'll have to wait and see.
