I've been manually following for several months now, seems the maximum is 200 follows per day. When I follow manually, I click a lot faster than the script does and haven't had any of my accounts banned yet.

And yes, the maximum following limit is 5000 (unlike Twitter, this isn't raised if you reach a lot of people followers). An unfollow-script would be great! Have been on the lookout for something similar to TweetAttacks for Tumblr, but no luck so far.

Here is version two of my imacros script:

I think that Tumblr has got a 50 users per day limit, so the process is now slower than it use to be. Below is a slightly quicker and stable version of my Following script.

Please make sure you log into your tumblr account, at your dashboard in the search box on the right type your chosen keyword and press enter. Then run the imacro script.

Also make sure you scroll down quite a bit so more posts appear on the screen, remember not to go over 50 follows per day.

Hey Jack Sparrow, I have a question. Is there a chance that you could make it so that the script ignores those that you are already following?
Or does that even matter?
If you re-follow someone by using this script, is that 200-1=199 followings left today? Or is that still 200? Because the limit is still 200, you saying the limit is 50 makes me think that following somebody multiple times counts too.
Does re-following someone cause the 48 hour limit for sending fan mail get reset?

ok, I have confirmed it. If you follow somebody that you are already following, then that will count as +1 do your daily limit of 200. I used the script for 50 loops (got 10 actual new follows out of that) and then followed people manually. I followed 160 new people today, 40 follows were wasted.

Hey Quazposter! Thanks for working out this flaw in the script for tumblr following, i wondered why the follow count had dropped down from 200 to 50. Unfortunately there is nothing i can really do with the script to skip the ones already followed, other than probably creating a username scraper that you then have to manually edit yourself and then create another script to enter that list in the same way. Back to the drawing board.

By the way due to the inflexibility of Imacros on chrome, most of the commands for scripts are missing and unfortunately most scripts will only work with the Firefox version of Imacros as this one does.

Here is a working username url scraper script for tumblr which you can manually edit for duplicate username urls!

Again use the search tag to enter your keyword to find relevant followers in your Tumblr dashboard. PLEASE NOTE make sure you scroll downloads loads to load up lots of user posts to help with the scraping process, tumblr's strange and inflexible pausing when loading more post would make this script really slow if i had to put a long pause in the script. So you must do this process or the script will go all strange.

Replace folder where file is with the folder where you have put the Tumblr.txt file, to get this right click on the text file and select properties and then copy paste the folder location into the script.

This will give a nice list of username urls which you can manually edit for duplicates, i am sure there is a fast way to delete duplicates in a list of text with some software so if anyone has some suggestions.

Also i am currently working on the script which will help with following this list of tumblr username urls, so please be patient!

Plus if anyone has a better way to scrape the tumblr username urls, then please post your imacro script in this thread! This one is stilll a little unstable at times.

Replace exactlocationandnameoftxtfile with the folder location of where your txt file for the extract tumblr username urls is e.g C:\Users\PC\Desktop\Tumblr.txt. Also set the max loop to the number of urls you have in your scrape url txt file (MAX TUMBLR FOLLOWS 200 PER DAY)

The flaw with any tumblr following method is you will have to manually edit and delete Tumblr username urls from the scraped list that have already followed you back which is a bit of a pain. But hopefully my scripts will make your following process a bit quicker.

I use this program to remove remove duplicates from a txt file http://www9.zippyshare.com/v/66657372/file.html it isn't elegant, but it works.
how to use
1. unzip
2. run PBSScollector.exe as administrator
3. click on hunt mode
4. click on import and load the txt file
5. close the program
6. navigate to pbssc/america's army 3/data/pray.dat

All your whatever will be in pray.dat with the duplicates removed. I'm sure it has a limit for the max file size it can handle, but I don't know what it could be.
If anybody knows a better program for this, I'd appreciate it.
