Ultimate Demon - Change in Pricing Policy

Today I got a message from ultimate demon about the price war going on among affiliates with the coupons. This is the message.

Dear Affiliate,

Affiliates can create your own discount coupon via "Marketing -> Offers -> Create Offers" to promote our products.


To avoid a price war, the discounted price after applying the coupon must not be lower than USD $347 for the onetime license of UltimateDemon.


Affiliates who have already created a discount coupon that sells the onetime license below USD $347, you are given till 3rd June 2012 to make the changes.


We will disable affiliate who do not comply to our policy.


EdwinSoft reserve the rights to amend the terms and conditions without giving prior notice.

Guys if you are planning to buy ultimate demon one time license on a discounted price, then do it before 2nd June as you will not be getting the special coupon codes which you get from the black hatters here. However there is no special mention of monthly subscription. I am in no way promoting my affiliate link, it is just to let guys know about this. There are few others who offer good prices for UD one time license. I think I am not breaking any rules, (I have never done it before too). If mods feel that this thread is unnecessary, then they can delete it right away.

Affiliates were taking a larger and larger cut in their own mark up to facilitate the extra discount. This in turn was driving the good affiliates out of the market place. Those that offer better value in terms of bonus, service and other stuff.

The same is true of a lot of software that allow the affiliate to use their own commission to undercut. Eventually all the better ones leave the market and those that are left are scrabbling for a few cents here and there. The application itself is devalued. It's poor economics essp for software that is this good.

Clickbank is a total waste of time since they relaxed their rules on new affilaite payouts. People just open their own account these days and buy their software and get the commission back themselves. Many big developers have stopped using Clickbank as a result. Not because their own payout was any less, but because they rely heavily on a committed affiliate network to market and add value to their product, and there was no incentive to continue in a market where the end consumer just opened their own clickbank account and bought the product themselves every time.

Using proper affiliate schemes where the site owners are vetted, discounts controlled and payouts require a full registration and bank check gets rid of this.
This is a good move from the devs. Ultimate Demon - that's getting the "link structure" function in the next few weeks is way underpriced compared to it's main competitor already.

Anyway - 3rd June and double discount ends (including mine). Which is a shame as they've just added Jcow and Clipshare to the list of platforms supported, and having your own video submission farm and an extra WEB2 platform is something a lot of people wanted.

I am not blaming edwin here.. however I don't know if what he is doing is the right thing. Price war happens everywhere, and as long as there is no loss for the product owner he should be fine with it. I am sure some long term affiliates went to him complaining about the price war.

I spoke to the magic submitter owner and it seems he is not going to entertain any coupons/discounts.

for the price much better , for the tasks UD better in some and SE better in other and SE have some extra features , but the price and considering UD still new and owner doing more work on it to make it the ultimate tool ..... UD worth to buy ....

Are you joking? I am not saying this because I use UD or I promote UD. it is from the makers of bookmarking demon, which is in the market for over 5 years and have seen 100s of updates (quite a few version updates too). Knowing them and the support team, there is noway they will quit the market anytime soon (why would they quit the market which they dominate?).

What a load of nonsense. The sign of something leaving the market soon is the "fire sale"...50% of everything..the EXACT OPPOSITE of what is happening here.

UD is having it's first major update this month (the link structure module).
The cost of the product is split with most going to the devs and the balanmce going to the affiliate (this is how nearly all affiliate schemes work)
With the affiliate scheme as it was set the individual affiliates were able to give a bigger and bigger slice of their own cut to the buyers.

It was getting to the stage where people with no selling ability were giving away 95% of their commission just to make a sale.
The developers still got 100% of their money - that affiliates just 5% of theirs.

While this was great in the short term for the consumer it meant a number of things.

1) Good affiliates that could actually SELL and provide value abandoned the scheme and moved to other products as it was no longer worth their while - leaving the market open to Clickbank rejects and link spammers.

2) The overall value of the product was reduced in the eyes of the affiliates and the end customer

3) With all the big affiliates moved onto other products, the overall marketing for this application would diminish by a large percentage meaning the likelihood of less sales.

Edwinsoft have never abandoned a product. BMD is well over 6 years old, it is a one off payment product, and is still updated regularly.
It moved to an entirely new engine just a matter of weeks ago. Never seen another IM product do that (Scrapebox is the next I can think of - though that's barely half the age of BMD)

If you want quality - you pay for it. Well at least after 3rd June you do.

Ultimate Demon isn't for everyone. It's not the golden bullet - but it is a very well coded, supported and professional application that has new features added every few weeks (2 new major platforms added about 10 days ago - Clipshare and Jcow - link structure feature coming in June etc).

I certainly have no interest in selling products to people who don't want or need them. I would never sell a product that looked like it was on its last legs. I don't want complaints and refunds, or my members to get on my back.

If something like Ultimate Demon fits into your SEO strategy, it's well worth a look. If it doesn't - then don't get it.

If you're sitting on the fence I'd take up some of the discounts on ultimate demon(take your pick from any resellers on the thread).I have nothing personally to gain from recommending it but it works very well.I prefer it to senuke.It's only been out what 6 months yet it is right up there with nuke.It has a nice scheduler for drip feeding,important in times of penguin.It gave you the ability to add your own sites BEFORE senuke.I have around 10k of wikis,yes some will be solid sh*t,but you can create groups so you can have a group for bookmarking with your high pr sites,then on lower tiers submit to all your bookmark sites over a month or so.

I have seen solid results with it,penguin did not affect one site,I thought it had affected 2 but just discovered they were hacked(old tim thumb) the hack uses an exploit in the 2nd latest release of wordpress double xxml or something.Anyway UPDATE YOUR WORDPRESS it got rid of my hack just be upgrading.
