It seems that a great deal of the webmasters here that make a living on line have been doing it for quite some time and look down on these not-so-fancy make-money-quick methods because either A) Like a senior with paddle, they are "beyond" that and the rest of us suck or B) They have forgotten what it is like to be a wish-upon-a-star newbie.
Luckily, not all of them are like that. Many of the pros are all about lending a hard earned paddle to a struggling swimmer, even offering a seat in the boat, thinking, "yah, I remember when I couldn't swim that well". These guys are life-savers. (too many analogies?)
Anyway, you can't have it either way. You either care and feel compassion for the newbs, wishing them luck, or you don't (or you look the other way, same thing).
I have been surfing the forums looking for a quick buck for so long lately that I am afraid if I step off my board I'll walk like a drunkard. While on my wave I have found that a great deal of the people of BHW look down on others who e-whore to make money online. Experienced members most often call it a newb method. Some think it taboo and so on, yet at the same time, I find that very few of these same people claim it un-profitable. In most cases, when somebody talks about e-whoring negetivley, they say "it's a lot of work, but you will make money".
This brings me to a point: If it works "most of the time", "requires some time", or "is for newbs", than why not point some more newbs in this direction, lest it be a way for them to make some money, wet their beaks with the fantasy and let them know that it may be only the beginning?
That was my plight for all of those who, like me are struggling one way or the other, looking for a hand.
So, to my situation: I will admit that I am thinking very hard about giving e-whoring a shot, but I am not a newb to the "webmaster world". I have and have had many websites over the course of my endeavors, but un-like webmasters out there, I am (for the most part) in it for the love. Most of my sites are interest sites and hobbies of mine, appealing to very specific niche, which can only be monetized to extents. They pay for them selves a few times over. That is all. This is why I want to make "a quick buck".
Yes I could get serious about the money, but every time I have tried that I end up getting bored and I never really follow through. (MY BAD, I know, so don't hate on the post). I just don't want to spend 6 months to a year doing something that does not interest me so that I may make a few thousand per month down the road. I want money now (or by next payout), and it seems to me that while there may be a few methods out there that may or may not do the trick, e-whoring is one that works for most people, more often than not.
Anyway, for all the fluff, I am just looking for some thoughts on e-whoring, maybe some inspiration, because I don't think I am the only one standing on the dock, thinking of sticking a toe into murky waters while the parents are not looking.
