Checking your rankings in Google without personal results

A little fast trick I have been using which seems to be working and showing absolute ranking results rather than personal or country specific results.

1. Use the private browsing function in Chrome or Firefox.
2. Go to Google.com/NCR
3. Search for your keyword.

It will only give you the google.com results. If you want to search a country specific keyword you can use the /ncr ​behind the country extension..like google.fr/ncr

Since not everybody seems to know this i'd thought it might be a nice share.

If you are in the US and already logged out of your google account you might not see a difference, but if you where previously logged in, or using google from outside of the US this should give you the absolute results, it does for me.
I tried this by checking the results in Google.com on my VPS which I only use for SEO (no logins) and then with google.com/ncr on my own machine which I use for day to day use from outside of the US .

Also don't forget to only do this in Firefox private browsing and Chrome incognito, if you don't there will still be some personal results.

It is not enough to ad Google.com/NCR, you need to add after you hit search to the url - &pws=0 and press enter

I just did this, but there is no difference to the results if I place it after my initial search through google.com/ncr

I find the IP location still effects the search a bit, so I'd use a web-based proxy or a rank tracker tool like SerpBook.

What I do is go to aol.com if i want to see the accurate result for US, aol.ca, for canada and aol.co.uk for United kingdom. You probably know that the result from aol is from google, and no matter what country you are in and what ip you are using, if you search aol.com the result will be for google US.

If you want difference, try this! Just enter your KW and URL...this site shows me different results than other tools...but depending on my traffic I will say that its pretty right

OK, search for example for weight loss pills and click on site that is like on 4 page, next time you search for it without &pws=0, that site will show up in first page, though with &pws=0 it will be in 4 page
