I hate to be blunt, but I really dont care about your opinions on the potential direction of this thread. I'm trying to create something that will help me and others make more educated purchases in this post-penguin era.

as to get this thread moving along, I will post some of the recent experience I have had.

I have been using a combination of BSTs as well as some of my own SEO work to rank for a 250k exact search keyword with very difficult competition. It was a brand new keyword for my site. My initial ranking was 170. My site was NOT hit by Penguin.

The first BST I used was Supernova 2.0 - There is only one package available

The next day I bought marrko's High PR Network - the Aggressive plan

A few days later, I reviewed blackmind's BM SEO service - the $81 package

The combination of those three BSTs helped my keyword jump to spots 30-40. It is currently going through the google dance in that area, thus the broad range.

More recently, I have purchased Leith's Weebly Tumblr Interlinking BST Package 2, and 20 Linkpushes from BassTrackerBoats.

I have high hopes for these SEO packages and will report back in a couple weeks.

My own SEO work for this keyword was solely to add diversity. I did some wikis, a custom SEnuke campaign, blog network submissions, and some social bookmarks.

Also Penguin just happened 4 weeks ago so it's really too early to tell which BST's are good. This thread might be useful in a couple of months because despite what a service may say, it takes at least 4 weeks to see results these days. Any results you're getting right after purchasing a BST is actually from work you did months earlier lol.

I bought leiths tumblr package the quality of the spun content is very debatable in terms of how unique it is il report back with my findings im stuck with it due to my timeframe but if penguin is closing down on content then im more worried about the repercussions but il get back to you

Just thought Il jump in - if a service doesn't work for you it doesn't mean it's the same for everyone. Many factors could effect the overall result. Anyways, you're entitled to your opinion and Il respect that.

I disagree with everything you said. I just got my Tumblr report and they are some of the finest looking properties I have seen in awhile. As stated above, this thread is intended for positive feedback only, not thread bashing.

As for the 4 weeks thing, you can see results much sooner for a lot of services. Of course, results won't be immediate. For the keyword I mentioned above, I had NO SEO work done to it previously. As stated, it was new. You usually see movement within the first week, and then you get a more solid idea of the effect in 2 weeks. There is still some movement after 4 weeks, but it is not the only movement.

I have found that package deals never really work well pre or post penguin. They may work, but they're always risky.

Best to just buy a bunch of different packages and types for diversity.

I think instead of listing BST services (which honestly would be unfair due to many circumstances) the best thing is asking:

What type of link building strategies should I do post penguin/panda?

That is a better question to ask. Once enough posts come in from various people, then you can try and analyze different BST packages and see which works better for your sites. Oh and as a reminder, as I'm sure you've read elsewhere.. what works now doesn't mean it's going to work tomorrow.
