In regards to Penguin update, where I heard to don't over optimize your website, so how many links (average) should be made in a day?

I don't know if there's a magic number, it depends on the quality of the links, consistency, domain age, etc. Don't over-do it, quality not quantity. :P

yes, you are correct alanine, there is no magic number, can have today 1 link and tomorrow 10.000 and look more natural than 100 links everyday.

Have you heard about link velocity misha?

If you Google "Michael Jackson," you'll see sites about the artist. However, when he died a sometime ago, you would have seen almost entirely sites dedicated to News Updates and the Death. The reason for this is that these sites got a ton of links at once, and shot to the top of the rankings. After that initial link burst, they received fewer links and now I'd assume they're receiving none. When they lost that link pressure, they slowly left the top rankings because Google no longer saw them as relevant.

By gradually building up the number of links being built to your site, and keeping those links growing over several months; you'll show Google that your site is meant to stick around for the long term. In my opinion you should never stop doing SEO on your site. You can lessen the pressure once you reach the top, but it's best to keep some links coming in so your stay there and widen the gap between you and your competitor.

Summing it all up, start slow with your link building and make sure you're in it for the long haul. And keep things White Hat. Blasting links at a site using Black Hat techniques is only asking for short term rankings and a potential banning of your site.

Based on what google has said in the past, is that all link building done must be in the "natural way" what the hell does that mean?

Well, it should start very slow and over time gradually increase as you site gets "very popular" as your site received more exposure and other sites want to link to your site "naturally"

So start very slow and increase overtime.

For a new site the first you need to make sure is that all the pages been indexed by G then start building links slowly & make sure they are high quality links from various sources, those links should also be drip feed over a period of time slowly.Once you rank start to rise & you see your traffic is increasing scale up your link building but increase the quantity slowly over a period of time to avoid any penalty .

if you want to survive long time, then do what google loves .its not about number.what is important here it is are you doing right or wrong? slow manual complete white hat link building is safe thing in long run.if you use all bots to build backlinks then you will be hit like others ,now are suffering due to penguin update.

I suggest you to focus on quality not quantity. If you want to build number of links then simply go with targeted links. Links on relevant websites. But definitely it would be a problem if you have same anchor or 100s of websites overnight.

Make your link building as natural as you can..

P.S Make G as an extra source of income, don't solely depends on G, very risky...

None. From my 64 sites, the only 2 that are #1 on G have 0 backlinks. And since I don't want to fix something that's not broken, I don't do backlinks on them and they are solid #1, above amazon or wiki...

I don't know the number but if you build links 50 daily which looks natural then I think its enough.

Also i may add one thing should you always make sure for a new site is not to build links more then the traffic you are getting on a monthly basis;for example if you have a new site & you are getting 10 visitors a day then you should building 10*30 links on a month for the initial period & once you see some boost on your traffic you can slowly scale up the quantity but always make sure you drip feed those links instead of building them all at once.

This question has no specific answer. There's no hard and fast rule of number of backlinks per day but if you do (lets say) 20-25 quality links per day, its enough. You can change the number based on the results you get.

Take into account the amount of traffic you get for your keywords.Post penguin,I'd be vary of blasting my site with hundreds of links per day.Like other people have suggested,it is best to go slow and track the progress.

I think it all depends on your site's age and niche.

For example social site types like watch x online or funny pictures etc.. there you can have higher amount of links per day..
and some penis site or health blog or something like that should have little bit lower amount.

Also age matters too it's safer to build more links for an older domain than younger domain

Its better to concentrate on quality rather than quantity. Build high PR links and keep the numbers low.

The question is how fast they should be indexed...you can build 500 backlinks/day but if none is indexed equals zero effect.
