Ranking a sample for a potential client, FAST?

I got hyped up reading Taktical's & 7878's threads. I've taken action & I need some help guys.

I now have a potential client for offline, but they want to see a portfolio which I don't have. I got around this by telling them I don't disclose clients. I then told them I would rank something for them within the next week instead. Which they are very interested in.

Now I'm wondering if you guys can point me in the right direction. I'm hoping someone can help me determine:

1) The best type of keyword to select - meaning how to pick the easiest keyword to rank for.

2) The best platform - I've seen people fond of ranking Youtube video's fast. Should I do youtube, a 1 page wordpress site?

3) Best short term off page SEO or linkbuilding. SEO Nuke blast? I've got the resources for on page covered for a video or wordpress site.

4) Any other info that can help me.

These guys have the contract in hand & are ready to move forward, but want to see some proof before they sign & pay. So thanks for all the suggestions in advance!

Well what are you ranking for them? Something equivalent to their niche or just a random keyword? And If its that important to you and you will be making good money maybe you should out source from BHW and purchase a service. If you contact them fast and explain your situation they should help.

Pick an extremely non competitive long tail keyword, and do a fiverr link wheel blast. Pick a long tail, related keyword. It will not matter to them if it doesn ot have many searches at his point, they simply will not know. You are just using an example.

that is why you should be prepared next time. I hate dealing with clients but initially I do not evenj contact them before I rank them and get traffic. Most think you are genius for knowing what refreshing the page means. I just closed a local custom fireplace maker business on its name with emd in 2 days.

So try their name, if not use something related " best cheap stone mason company in my little town" Make a WP 1-3 page site, maybe even separate page on your "business" site. Follow basic onpage guide, H1 H2, first thing last thing, alt img bold, link, etc you may even copy and paste bunch of meta descriptions from ranking sites on search engines for chosen keyword than rewrite.
run indexing tools/scripts on valuation/traffic sites.

Create animoto video upload to vimeo and YT post and repost to social networks (including LinkedIn and scribd) + social bookmarks + popular blog comments than create few ads on craigslist and backpages , I prefer event section because it will be picked up faster.

Above works for me virtually always in couple days for looong keywords/local/biz name. What ever you do try to double effort as long your potential earnings justifies it. Try two / three keywords / methods.

Good luck man, next time make sure to have something in hand before you meet them. You can even rank before you meet them but don't tell them, rather leave and say you will rank them in a week, than come back in few days with results. They will love you, BTW you may even send some adf. ly traffic over just as proof. Good luck

I get to pick. I will do something sort of related, but again I get to pick so it could be anything.

Correct, they do not care about searches. Its just to show them we can do it. And they do not know what a long tail is or isn't.

Ok thanks. I'm a sales guy. I've been landing tire kickers who know squat. My other clients have been for other IM stuff. This is my 1st SEO client & like the others, I just was presenting it to him. Then he ask for past work. This is definitely worth it.

They don't care if its a solo youtube video. I said it will be either a site or a video. Do you think the video by itself could rank top spot for "irrelevant long tail keyword niche company in small town" without being on a site, if I do just views, likes, comments package and a a fiverr link wheel blast that metalan1 mentioned?

Recently I made a website for a friend to try to get him more janitorial business in a city with pop, of 150k. I bought an EMD cityjanitorial.org and quickly whipped up a little 7 page website using Xsitepro, you can use wordpress if you're handy with that and free too. I made sure the on page seo had the correct keyword: city janitorial. The competition was so soft, some didn't even have that right, they would have city, janitorial, xxx, etc. I created a youtube account named cityjanitorial and uploaded a short video I made with the description referencing the url cityjanitorial.org. Within a couple of days the site was indexed and was on the first page. No other backlinks done other than the video.

In a nut shell, get an EMD, target keyword with low search volume, low number of competing websites, competing websites with un-optimized on page seo. If those conditions are met, you prolly only need to purchase some high PR social bookmarks and done deal.

Now I want to mention in my example the page one did not have the Google Places 7 box which provided more opportunity to get on the first page with the organic serp.

Afterwards you can sell the site or rent it out since it's already ranked and getting traffic.

Even if I loose or don't get a client I will offer my advise and never will I close the door with my ass nor lie or sugar coat to get into their wallet without knowing I can deliver what I promised. And most importantly deliver an ROI that makes sense for them. Good luck )

Hey man. You're on the wrong discussion board dude. Most people around this place are out to help each other make money. You can kindly stop posting in this thread while the rest of the posters help the situation.

But if you'd like to help, I'll give you some background on myself. I've been reading, reading, and doing more reading. I know the basics of SEO. I've never ranked anything because I have clients doing of IM stuff offline. I finally decided to get off my ass & take action on Taktical's thread. Now does that mean I need to be an expert on SEO before I sell it? If it does to you, then go be an expert. Sorry bro, but I've done what the majority hasn't by taking action.

I've researched there keywords & they won't be hard to rank for. I'm just asking how to rank FAST! I have the blueprint for slow ranking which is what the customer expects.

SEO is not rocket science, but it can be if you have competitive keywords & you want sustained rankings through G updates.

Right now I speed is what I need & I've come here to ask Black Hat World. Black Hat World is full of helpful experts, so show me you're one & contribute please.
