Just wondering, Whether instagr.am worth 1B$, where more than half percent visitors are from twitter!!! What should be the worth of Pinterest!!! 11B$??? I know two are totally different by type, Yet!!!

The only reason Facebook bought Instragram is to prevent competition. They are pretty much the go to website for sharing photos and I think they wanted to avoid heavy competition so it was probably just easier to buy Instagram. Was it worth $1B? I don't think so but then again I don't work for Facebook or Instagram.

I don't think pinterest is all that hot, but I'm not a 13 year old girl. It has value, but how much depends on who is buying. Why do we care anyway? It helps us if sites stay around.

If the question is, is instagram worth $1B, I would definitely say, NO, from my point of view. But Facebook is more in tactical game than ever before. If you see, they have bought plenty of patents as well while they have bought instagram. They are focusing to dominate and secure every sector that we are thinking of. I guess, once Myspace had all the hype, but they didn't think what the next step should be, and here Facebook is going ahead all of them. With billions in hand, I won't surprise if they make several deals like instagram in near future.

Well,after the disastrous ipo of facebook,we should now maybe understand that these tech companies are being over valued. Instagram is surely not worth 1b$ but it was a competition to facebook as the main purpose of it was sharing images with friends,that is the basic thing in facebook too. Facebook couldn't risk any competition and they took over it. As far as pinterest is concerned,it will surely be valued more than instagram.

Instagram was only worth $1B because Zuckerberg was bunging some dosh to his chums working there.. such as the former fb exec who lead a $7M investment in instagram just a couple of months before fb bought it.. and you can bet several of the silicon valley investors involved in that deal are well known to zuck. It's all about who you know..

That site sucks... and its not the new facebook or Google, it wont be here in 2-3 years time.

Its only worth what it makes in revenue times 10 IMO.

So if its making $50K per month or what... then 500K is what its worth, not a penny more. Its a fad.
