Are these keywords easy to rank without an EMD?

Hi,

I've been playing around with UNF lately and found a bunch of product-based keywords with decent searches that I'm very tempted to create small Amazon sites for. Although the EMDs are not available, the competition seems very easy, I'm just not sure about the domain age, and the huge amount of indexed pages these domains have. Most of the competition is inner pages of sites like Ebay, Amazon, Shopstyle, Overstock, etc. (fashion niche)

Here are a few Market Samurai screenshots:

KW4: 14800 exact searches

So as you can see, they are all inner pages of huge sites, with very few backlinks to the pages themselves. How hard would it be to rank these keywords with a new site without an EMD? Is it worth the effort?

Thanks!

EMD got penalized heavily on the last google algorithm update so think twice before you go for it :)

Did they? All mine either moved up or stayed I'm there original position and the new emd sites launched since penguin all have flown up serps all .co emds

EMD is not that important any more. With an aged non-EMD you should be able to rank at least as well as with an EMD. I tried and it works.

Great, thanks! So the index count and domain age of these sites shouldn't matter too much, right?

Watch out for the on page SEO, that will play important role in this.

Go for a brandable new or an old domain and you should be fine with these keywords.

Shouldn't be much of a problem if done right. I'd say, Go for it!
