why Google Penguin does not good for google itself?

Hi All,

Google Penguin is not as much as good for google because according to it = Google penguin will ban sites which are getting links from spam sites, link farms, bad sites, ban sites and etc.

So, it has given chance to Gray hat SEO world. now competitors have another chance to damage any site reputation. Now competitors will do lots of bad linking their competitor sites and try to damage reputation in front of Google penguin so that penguin ban the site or make lower the rank.

Google penguin has not any certain rules for it "if someone tries to damage reputation then what to do?" and i think, this is really not good at all.

Google panda was good because it considered content of site, content should be relevant, up to mark and useful for users. But penguin has come with many link building rules to ban or make lower rank.

What is your option on this?

It didn't affect my sites, so as a webmaster I don't care too much. However, many of my searches bring up sites like answers.com and Yahoo Answers after the Penguin, which are the last thing I want to see as an answer to my query.

I liked Google as a user, when queries were bringing up thematic forums instead.

All the major google updates (panda, penguin, pimp??? <-- hahaha!) are unfortunately destroying the non quality sites!

Try to aim for longer time on site, lower bounce rate, many +1 prominently displayed and don't forget your 'share like tweet etc'.

For backlinks, aim for backlink relevancy. If you post your 'dog training routine' on a 'second hand car tires sale' google will hate you!

Hmm, as a final word of advice, write content for the visitors first and secondly for google. Don't overoptimize the page!

I believe with Penguin Google gave green light for negative SEO, so it's by far not a success from my point of view.

I was badly effected by Penguin my site gone vanished for few days but now it automatically increased it's rank don't know why it was pull me down and makes me pretty upset for those few days.

I think this penguin update is on it's Beta stage, and that we have to know what certain parameter and speed does the penguin kicks in. like how fast should we build a links and how often we rotate the keywords, amounts of link we build that we create in a day. Big G for sure is aware of these negative seo and for sure they are taking some actions and building tons of links on a competitor can tell big G that it's artificially created and will not create havoc on it. just my two cents though.

I completely agree with you about creating number of links each day. I have some information regarding this.

Number of backlinks in a month should not be exceeded to the traffic of a month.

Example = suppose, you have 1000 visitors in a month then you should not make more than 1000 backlinks to the site because it will look unnatural and spammy.
