Invested In FB Stocks

I find this whole stock and shares and whatnot business fascinating, and I'd love to learn more and maybe get my feet wet with it, but damn this stuff goes over my head.

Hopefully you didn't invest your lifes savings, highly un-recommended...

It's about $10 under IPO

A short option would have been smart.

Once Facebook starts to make their users $$$ on their platform, they'll get investors to drive the value up.

But, you know, It wouldn't be a horrible idea to throw some change at the stock just in case it does pull a Google/Apple. Who knows?

Zuckerburg and his team could be good IT bodies , but i don't think they as good investors.FB already reach it's peek level and no way to go, so i think they aren't going to invest in FB. they might be going to invest money on their new projects.then who can assure that their new projects never will be fail(WE all know most of Google's social media projects were failed, while they were pioneer in the search engine ) So we shouldn't invest on FB right now without knowing what they are going to do and how it's strength.

Zynga ZNGA is a really good buy now.

Interesting.... It is really cheap right now. Any solid reasons you expect it to go back up.

I can imagine scenario's where it would. But I can do that with a lot of companies. I'm much worse at imagining scenario's where companies would go bust.

First off, I think the OP is prob pulling our virtual legs.
But I will entertain the conversation...

Why would you actually ask advice on this forum about FB stocks?
Take 1 look at the current valuation online.
DOWN.

Have you looked at where it's at online?
Last I looked, it was under the original $38 low.
I think if you really did purchase, which I doubt, you need to hold on to them for now.

I am waiting to get some in a few months. Big, huge maybe...
I think they will go down but will come back up when FB improves on the shitty timeline thing.
They are tweaking it now, I heard.

But really, we dont need FB. We need google but not FB...
It may go the way of myspace but take a little longer.

What did you pay and how many did you get?
Oh that's right, you didnt.
HA HA!
Funny post though...

Peace.

There's no need for facebook like there is Google. Unless they start an adsense program for facebook users, I think they will not ever make it back up.

forward p/e of 70 is cheap? next quarter earnings will look like shit bc we all know people dont use the internet during the summer.

I agree with Cody. Nobody needs FB. Plus, even though it's been going strong something better will come along and replace.

I dissagree with a LOT of you, Yahoo NEVER EVER reached a worth of 95 billion. Matter of fact, very few dot coms have. I think its a solid investment. In 10 years , i see Facebook still going strong and a great place to advertise. Geolocation advertisements is genius. As well as hitting particular age groups of certain types of people, you can almost PINPOINT who you want to advertise to. Good luck OP, but i think its a solid investment.

I was told never to buy stocks on the first day of opening. Stocks always end up dropping. Too much hype, look at the stock now. Not doing too good.

Apple is a nobrainer 6 months back. However .com stocks are good for short term, you just wait around for an announcement to be made, which happens regularly with .coms and profit the next day. however Apple is a long term stock... where the focus is not on profit but on wealth creation.

So on Monday I bought 20 shares of Apple at 530... Then Apple closed at 562 or something. And I made a 5.5% return (unrealized gains as I'm not selling anytime soon). but this was the first time i've ever invested in a stock. So yeah... I thought maybe I should start a hedge fund or something to let the commoners take advantage of my investing genius.

Compared to Facebook though, Apple is a no brainer. Facebook doesn't have any fiscal policy that's clear.

And the nerve of a $104bn valuation with less than $1bn in profit last year is just insulting to the market. And I think enough people realized it in time. Compared to Apples 45 billion gross profit and 500billion market cap... It just looks like a better company overall to me. And I think a lot of people are getting sick of Facebook.

People are not getting sick of Apple just yet, but I don't think it'll take much time. I'm preparing to drop my Apple shares soon. Apple shares the "cool factor" with FB, just FB coolness is more volatile. I think of Apple like a cool religion. Unless they could perform the miracle of finding another leader like the original, people will soon move to the next bandwagon.

I have a theory that nobody masters this subject. However there are people that just know a little more.

You can read a lot of books... or just watch "Wall Street"
