When you backlink through whatever method, blog comment for example, I am interested to know what is your next step?

Do you just do nothing at hope they are indexed naturally? Or ping RSS or something like that? Anybody using an indexing service eg linklicious?

So what do you do, and is it dependent on whether it's linking to main site or tier 2s? Or any other factors?

Build more, add more content and hope you rank high :)

it depends what kind of links are they. I wouldn't suggest you to ping forum profiles and comments links. Let google god them naturally. It's a little tough to get index web 20 links this days. I usually build amr links pointing to web 20 and comments and profiles pointing to amr links and add web 20 and amr links to linclisious. It helps to get them crawl and believe me, they wont get index in one day. Usually after 2 weeks using this method about 70% of your links will be indexed. Then rinse and repeat :)

I don't normally ping links, unless I'm testing something. I just wait, or technically I don't, I either continue or switch to another project.

When you don't ping them what percentage of them get indexed usually?

Thanks for the answers

This entirely depends on the type of backlinks you build.
If you are building contextual backlinks with unique content then the indexing percentage is better then say same contextual links with scraped and spun content.

Building second tier backlinks gives gr8 benefits thought. ;)

it all depends what kind of backlinks are they. I wouldn't suggest you to called called ping forum details and reviews backlinks. Let the google god them normally. It's a little complicated to get collection web 20 backlinks this days. I usually create amr backlinks guiding to web 20 and reviews and details guiding to amr backlinks and add web 20 and amr backlinks to linclisious.

After I create a backlink, I save it in an excel sheet with all the details and then move on to the next backlink.
However I do constantly monitor how we are performing from a number of sources, whether the SEO visibility on Searchmetrics or through our organic traffic on Google Analytics etc

You do all that just to index web 2.0s?

He's right, it's getting really tough to index web 2.0 's these days. You could do a high PR AA SB blast to them and or bookmark the web 2.0s

Keep building links, all different kinds.

Don't stop building links after you start. Micro niches you don't have to build them constantly, but you should have keyword tracking software to monitor your rankings.

Note down when you built links and what kind. This way you note what worked and what links didn't.

I don't ping links either, I let them be found naturally.

of course not only to index. It gives your tiers power. Do an experiment if you don't believe in this...First build just web 20, than wait until your rankings stop moving and add another layer of amr, xrumer and scrapebox links. I bet you will have higher amount o indexed web 20 sites and your rankings will move up. That is a simple pyramid that works. In AMR links you can insert 2 links...one pointing to web 20 and another raw URL or natural looking anchor pointing to your money site.

Keep trying diff source of trafiic , article making , press release , social bookmarks , promote on social networks , tweet it , post it on facebook. Promote on youtube , metacafe , daily motion etc..

I usually build more content in order to keep my mind off of the rankings because if I see no movement, I would want to give my site another round of links which is bad if done in a short amount of time.

so i've just created numerous business directory listings for my own business website.
now am i supposed to 'ping' or 'index' these new listings?
And how soon will these show up as backlinks to my website?

thanks!

You're doing one of 5 things:

-Building more links
-Building links to your links (tiered linking)
-Optimizing the page (A/B testing) if it already gets traffic.
-Building more sites
-Building links to other sites

After I am done with my linking campaign I start another to get as many diverse backlinks in as possible. It never really stops.

Keep building back links on top of back links on top of backs. On top of trying to get them all index
