Do all of you tend to have these paranoid thoughts, that someone is going to bust your door down and seize all your computer equipment for using black hat methods? or possibly take you to court and use it in evidence, (i.e. because you bookmarked the forum) or if youve downloaded too many torrents and your in shit for it lol.

It might just be me but was wandering if people tend to have that thought now and then! ha

If your not doing anything illegal that brings heat you have nothing to worry about. The only way of getting busted and arrested by the cops is if the following happens.

1. get a ceast and desist letter
2. Ignore the ceast and desist letter
3. Get served in a lawsuit
4. Ignore lawsuit and have contempt of court charges,and arrest warrant issued for you.

Get surveillance cameras, motion detectors, good locks and a door-jam. I've got my cameras tied to a server that uploads recordings and has live monitoring so I can see what's going on day or night if an alarm goes off. I don't worry so much about the cops than the random home invasion. Encryption programs for your computers are a good idea. Use a vps/proxy and pay for it in a way that it cannot be traced back to you. (ie. WebMoney, etc). Treat legitimate C&D's in a quick and professional manner. Sometimes that's all it takes to get someone/company off your ass.

Just remember that if the authorities want in, they're coming in. This normally happens after they've got enough dirt on your already they just want some extra evidence. Don't give it to them!
