What was your first mistake in IM?

I've made a lot. My big mistake was making big bank then not working and spending all the money :)

Well one thing I will regret is when i was spamming a facebook app. The app got viral and i was constantly making 500$-700$ daily for 10 days, then one day i went offline for that whole day and didn't bother to check if the apps are alive are not..that made me lose all the traffic from the app and it started to die slowly...I could have banked more 10k-20k$ if I didn't do that mistake!

My first mistake was when I didn't take any upfront for a website and then the guy never paid me for the website :(

I did that to, but then sent his ass to collections and eventually it hit his credit score. He called and was pissed because he was denied a card from Chase because of the bad credit mark and asked what he could do. I told him to pay his bill next time and he would not have to deal with shit like this.

My first mistake was reading to much ebooks and trying to learn every single thing about IM . I literally spent years just reading with out even attempting to do any work .

my big mistake was only used 2 keywords for my money sites :D penguin was coming and hit some of my sites hard.

Believing that the people who made money did so because of a 'secret' they knew, and if I knew this secret I would be able to instantly be successful.

My first mistake was thinking that IM will be easy money. IM is hard work and not for everyone.

got so many mistakes and still making new mistakes.. anyway, here it is how i rank.

1. too much reading stuff on im
2. lazy to do keyword research
3. tired of building good links
4. too lazy to try things..

but the good thing is i'm trying my butt to work things out well and with vigor.. :-)

First mistake was not researching my niche enough, and I ended up creating something that was completely out of date then I had to start all over again.

Didn't find BHW soon enough, and spent thousands on BS guru products.

Messing with the FTP settings on my host, not having any idea what i was doing. Lost my site. Luckily I could buy their backup service and restore it.

1st mistake: Bought my first EMD not knowing it was rated VERY DIFFICULT on traffic travis.

I don't consider this as my first mistake, rather a mistake that kept repeating again. Committing a mistake is not wrong, but repeating is. I buy an e-book read it, try it for two days will not see results, then will crib about the e-book and then buy another one. I lacked the ability to stick with an idea, I kept repeating this for nearly a year. Later on i did an introspection and decided on sticking to an idea for 6 months, that is when I started seeing profits and life changed.

My biggest mistake right now? Choosing the wrong hosting provider.

I hate big hosting providers they never care about customer service, and anyways that was before i got into IM, my ISP had a free domain + hosting for one year to all their current users, so needless to say i took it and got a website. Started a blog and blogged my own stuff for a while, the site got some traffic but not much so i started looking at ways to get more traffic and also make money off of that traffic, and then i found BHW, site has been doing pretty okay although i dont blog anymore (got autoblogs for that now :P).

Problem is the hosting is still at the ISP, and my site has been down for the whole weekend and this is my main site, i cant afford for it to be down hence why it actually has paid hosting, i have about 20 other websites all on free hosting accounts and they have never gone down.

This puts me in a weird predicament, main site is ranking for the stuff i make money from, and also has adwords going for it, but its down so doesnt help at all. Thinking about putting up 301's and moving my content to another domain that actually stays up.
