I tried the Windows 8 beta on a friend's PC. What an abomination that thing is. The lousy Metro UI isn't integrated enough into the OS to be truly functional (not that it would be worth a damn without a touch screen UI anyway) but is integrated too much to just flip over to desktop mode and forget about it.
